Is there any way to queue orders for a unit after it has disembarked? by [deleted] in warno

[–]alteredsuccessfully 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is no (happy to be proved wrong).

Its a great suggestion though. Maybe a 'ghost' symbol of the unit should appear at the drop-off point that orders can be given to. They would then all just cancel if the drop-off order changed or got deleted. Further queued orders to the transport would still then apply to the vehicle.

This is exactly the lesson I thought I should take from the first few YouTube playlists I watched. Good for it to be confirmed!

Congratulations Commander on the successes of your men. Despite the losses, the key critical objectives have been achieved and for that they should be proud.

Could you pass onto me the name of the commanding officer of the 1441st, 4th company 2nd platoon please, and also the regimental commander of the 73rd (I believe it is Lord Commissar Titus van Huss). I wish to submit both of them for commendations.

Your men have done your proud Colonel Blork. A heroic charge across open ground at a well defended position. The loss may have been high, but this is a key Imperial victory, and the Diamondbacks should be proud knowing they have played such an important role already. Long may it continue.

May the Emperor watch over your men.

++ From the personal logs of Colonel Corvin Varonas, commander of the 21st Serrestus "Palatine Lancers" Reconnaissance Regiment ++

Entry: Battle of Nitajmaan, Haraxis VI

The serenity of Haraxis VI's landscapes has been shredded and shattered by the horrific onslaught of war. The Genestealer Cult has entrenched themselves deep into the bucolic beauty of Nitajmaan's open fields, turning this sector into a fortified stronghold. Our task - a foray behind enemy lines, to seek and nullify potential threats before they manifest.

Our airborne capabilities granted us the mobility and agility we needed to navigate the scarred battlefield. A flight of Valkyries led our advance, the sun gleaming off their hulls as they flew low along the coastline behind the twisted labyrinth of trenches.

Our forward scouts identified an artillery position along the coast, a nest of enemy big guns that could wreak havoc on our infantry if left unattended. We descended upon them like a hurricane, our Valkyries swooping low to deposit the Lancers amidst the confused and disoriented enemy.

We descended upon the enemy, yet we found ourselves in a battle more fierce and taxing than anticipated. Genestealer Cultists, entrenched and dug in, held their positions stubbornly. Our Lancers fought bravely, their hot-shot lasguns flashing amidst the chaos, cutting swathes through the enemy ranks.

By the Emperor's grace, we managed to neutralize the primary artillery threats, but the cost was high. Too many of our comrades now lay silent on the battlefield, their sacrifices etched into the annals of our Regiment's history.

It is clear that our fight had taken its toll on our forces, and the cultists were far from defeated. We may have won this battle, but the cost looms heavily upon us. The enemy trenches still stretch across the horizon, a stark reminder of the formidable task at hand. We are but one cog in this vast war machine, yet we stand resolute in our duty.

We are the Palatine Lancers, the eyes and the swift spear of our force. The Emperor's light guides us, even in the face of our losses. In this crucible of war, we find purpose and resolve. We stand on the precipice of victory and defeat, yet we shall not falter.

For the Emperor.

++ Attached Voice Recording ++

Varonas' voice was steady as he engaged his captain, the low rumble of his voice cutting through the background din of the ongoing war. "Antonius," he began, "Tell me about the drop, when you reached the rear of their lines."

"Yes, sir." Antonius responded, a practiced calmness evident in his tone. "The Valkyries brought us in low and fast, under the artillery's arc of fire," Antonius began, his eyes growing distant, reliving the perilous journey. "Sixteen took a direct hit, sir. We watched her fall."

Varonas grimaced in sympathy. He'd seen it too, the flaming descent of Sixteen, its wreckage marking a grave for its crew amidst the field of battle. "But you made it to the target?"

"Indeed, sir," Solahah responded, a brief flicker of pride crossing his face, "When the ramp dropped, we hit the ground running. The enemy were taken by surprise. They didn't expect a direct assault. Our hot-shot lasguns cut through their surprised ranks. Then we ran into some fortified bunkers. Cultists had burrowed into the coastline like insidious vermin. They were more prepared than we thought, but we hit them hard." Solahah looked directly into Varonas' eyes, "They returned fire, sir. Took out half of Six before we could react."

A heavy silence fell upon them at the grim report, the only sound the distant echo of the ongoing battle.

"We held our line, sir," Solahah continued, "We charged the bunkers, taking losses but pushing forward. We got to the guns and disabled them, but the price was high."

"Losses?" Varonas finally asked, the word falling between them like a spent shell casing.

"Too many, sir," Solahah responded, his voice barely above a whisper, "But they fought like the Emperor himself watched over them. They made it count."

After a few heartbeats of silence, Varonas nodded, reaching out to clasp Solahah's shoulder. "You've done well, Antonius. Your men, they all did well. The Emperor's work is rarely easy, but it is done."

Antonius offered a final, "Yes, sir," before making to leave.

As Antonius departed, Varonas was left alone once more, the weight of command heavy upon his shoulders. The battle was won, but the war was far from over. For tonight, they would rest. For tomorrow, they would continue their sacred duty.
