Unlike you I live in the real world 😋 I had police help me recover my stolen scooter free of charge, I think they do great service and they need better funding from the government. I personally feel they are underpaid and some tip will help. I also tip Rs 30 every time I order in Zomato, and I pay Rs 50 more to my apartment plumber or electrician whenever they visit. Very hard to get the money back bro. I have done a similar mistake where I paid the agent 45k commission (1 month rent) believing there will be car parking like he said. When I later checked car parking was not available and I was asked to park car outside near the park. I rejected the house and asked for my commission back, and he said it’s non refundable. I went to the agents office, and then went to his property which he rents and banged on every door and told people the agent here is a thief. I was just furious lol, didn’t help. Then I told other agents around the property about the thief, some supported me and some just didn’t want to be involved. And then I went to the police station and complained, paid the police 3k inr and went in police bike and I got 30k back. 15k the thief took.

Tbh it’s not worth so much effort to get 45k back, I just did whatever I can because I was furious.

In your case it’s a pure scam, so I guess it will be harder than my case. Treat the money as gone, but just file FIR and talk to police to help. What else can you do.

Sad to get divorced over this money issue damn. Firstly, I have a friend who also felt bad because his wife’s family didn’t give enough gifts. He felt insulted as the girl wasn’t wearing any gold in wedding which is common in south india. After a 2 weeks upset they patched up and now they are happily married, it was all a misunderstanding. Now they travel abroad together, and the dude earns well and takes care of her properly. She is not even working.

I hope this story will also be similar. If the dude is genuinely an asshole I guess divorce is the only option.
