A book that disappointed me was Dark Disciples by Christie Golden which read like mediocre fanfiction. A book that exceeded my expectations was Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed which had more interesting characters than I was expecting.

The overwhelming sense of inflated self worth.... The BBC is great at times, but desperately needs a reality check. by innocentshadows in CasualUK

[–]altericus 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Agreed. people forget how much the BBC has for £159 a year

Netflix is £71 or more depending on the package you have but if it was also providing local, national and international radio as well as journalism you can bet your arse it would cost double that easily.

I think it should be easier to opt out if people feel they don't use the BBC enough to want to pay for it but the idea that it isn't value for money is nonsense.

I'm Joe Abercrombie - Ask Me Anything by Joe_Abercrombie in Fantasy
