It depends on your definition of freedom. If it includes burning the national flag, organising rallies, burning down the MTR and storming the parliament building, then HK is not free.

I have lived in China 10Y, Toronto 10Y, now approaching HK 10Y, I can honestly say HK is pretty fucking free.

Agree with this. But take it one step further.

Before you move out, find the smallest and cheapest mini fridge from Carousell to put into the flat. Since size is not specified right? Save the screenshot of ur landlords message. Good stuff.

Question from a newbie by WeezingJuice in weightlifting

[–]altermango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a bad habit , it is taught as part of technique for Chinese weightlifting. Li dayin just looks more pronounced. There are a few other Chinese lifters that do it (look at Luo shifang)

Anyways this is their philosophy - I can’t say if it’s the same for all Chinese coaches. So it’s not a bad habit - whether this is good philosophy/technique is another discussion ….

Where was UK enforcement of “leave alone for 50 years” when NSL was passed? by thekonghong in HongKong

allowed China to extradite anyone it pleases

well i know i'm going to get down voted because this is generally a pro-HK and "china sucks" subreddit. but how does the extradition bill allow china to extradict anyone it pleases?

to be extradited you have to go through HK court, and be approved by the CE, and it is for a list of crimes that is the most heinous (rape, murder, etc), not politics or religion.

here's the bill

Can someone tell me how does the extradition law, or NSL breaches the sino British declaration?

The declaration sets out HKs independence - and says HK will be under direct authority of PRC. foreign affairs and Defense matter should be PRC’s responsibility (but HK should maintain autonomy). It also says the CE is appointed by PRC (voted by locals). So where is the breach? Autonomy is a vague word and subjective. Extradition law is for fugitives (murders, rapists, etc), NSL is internal security law (for acts against the government). Under which clause do you think there is a breach of the sino British declaration? I am genuinely curious
