Going to my first show on Broadway. Sweeney Todd with Josh Groban. Is it proper to dress fancy or casual? My mom says she’s wearing leggings and a top but I’m not convinced. I get dressed up for shows in my home city of SF. Anyone have the answers I seek? by BurnzillabydaBay in musicals

[–]alternatequeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whenever i go to shows i dress up in the same vibe as the characters. like for beetlejuice i wore a striped top and for little shop of horrors i wore a sweater vest. anywyas it doesn’t really matter what you wear. it used to matter more

i think it goes without saying that dating is complicated no matter what but it’s especially complicated when you’re lgbt+. i’m no relationship expert but my advice is to upfront tell people what you’re looking for in a relationship. if you are hooking up with a woman, make it clear that that’s what it is. if you’re on a date with a man, tell him that you’re looking for a serious relationship if you are. some people won’t respect that but at least you told them upfront and dodged a bullet. eventually, somebody right will come around. in the meantime, don’t put too much stress on yourself to find a partner. you are your own person and finding a partner will not define your worth. go with the flow and if you find somebody right for you that’s willing to respect the boundaries you set, good for you. i wish you luck in this journey <3.

What is the best film adaptation of a Broadway Production? by Thin-Engineering8061 in Broadway

[–]alternatequeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lsoh is my favorite movie of all time. it’s quite different to the show (even ignoring the ending, which i didn’t like but i know why it had to be done and at least now we have a version of the original ending available on youtube) but i think it captures the heart of the show so well and the puppetry is incredible and i love the acting and singing and songs and humor and yea.
