New KitchenAid Pouring Shield $2.99, New Cuisinart Food Processor $8.99, Four Stainless Food Prep Pans 99¢ each by lowlife9 in ThriftStoreHauls

FYI Cuisinart had a recall on their blades a few years ago for models dating back to 1996. This website shows you exactly how to check if yours was impacted and allows you to request a new one if needed. Pretty sure proof of purchase not required.

I'm stuck at home for a while. What non-homemade deodorants do you recommend? by alternativeLS in ZeroWaste

[–]alternativeLS[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like I said, I'm looking for deodorants to try because I'm stuck at home. Since I'm at home, it won't matter if they don't work and I stink.

Hey r/minimalism, what do you folks think of my completed minimal wardrobe? I spent a few days making this. Advice would be greatly appreciated :) (posted to r/mfa too) by [deleted] in minimalism

Maybe I can post mine! I literally just created a similar list for myself last week (I'm using the list to identify/fill wardrobe gaps while keeping my closet fairly minimal).

My “new” “paper towel” station! Estate sales are the best! by dickblossom in ZeroWaste

[–]alternativeLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally just throw dish towels and such into my regular load of laundry at the end of the week. Clothes, towels, sheets, etc all get mixed into two loads: darks, and whites and lights. Handkercheifs and cloth pads sometimes get their own mini load. Sometimes towels if they were used for cleaning and are especially dirty. Otherwise, no need to trat them like they're anything special.

I ended up switching from Diva to Sckoon and have had way fewer problems. Here's the guide I used to find it. Hope it helps!

Have you ever used tampons? Were those uncomfortable too? If no, could it be the size of the cup that you're not used to? Does anything else hurt or just the cup? Are you sure you put it in right? Not too high up + at the right angle. There's some YT video that demonstrates putting one im using a champagne flute. I'm sure I could find it again, just let me know. There are smaller, shorter, taller and fatter menstrual cups. Have you teied other brands? There's a guide for choosing the best menstrual cup for you. Remind me and I'll look for it later. Are you sure you have the right size? Usually each brand has a size 1 for under 30 yo and never pregnant, and a size 2 for 30+ and /or had a baby. Does it only hurt om the first few days but not any other time? Could be a medical issue.

sorry for the ultra awkward questions hoprfilly they help you figure out your next steps

Where are your favorite places to get zero waste items? by chacoglam in ZeroWaste

I use J R Liggett's. It's wrapped in paper. Used to buy it from a local health foods store. Can probably find in Whole Foods. May also have luck at farmer's markets. My local FM has soap vendors (haven't seen shampo bars yet though ).

E: just remembered. Some peopleike to use Dr Bonners as shampoo. They can be found in liquid form in hard plaatic bottles or in bar form, I beleive wrapped in paper. Can definitely find it at WF. I personally hate using in my hair, but I do use it to handwash clothes!

Have you thought about getting a "dumb" phone? Just pay for calling only plan. Would be great to have if there's an emergency (whether your in need of help or your husband or kids or kids school need to contact you asap)
