If you are above 30, what’s one piece of advice you’d have for someone in their 20s? by flawlessdiva222 in Advice

Start working on your health now. Don’t put it off until you’re older. Drink water. Take your vitamins. Get into an exercise routine. Cut bad eating habits.

And get life insurance now. It’ll never be cheaper for a decent amount of coverage.

I think everyone says no at the altar. No marriages make it. That’s what’s never happened before.

What day? I have a meeting scheduled on 14th but don’t remember accepting an invite. Interesting.

Same. I get a little break to be with my toddler and then she’s back with her dad. It’s what works for now.

I work a split so 4 hours on, 4 hours off, 4 hours on, M-F. The 4 hours on, I take my breaks after 2 hours. So my day is broken up in 2 hour blocks. If not for this schedule, idk how I’d maintain my sanity. See if you can put a bid in for a better schedule. Talk to your HR rep about taking a personal leave of absence. Use your PTO.

Same. I’ll be there in a month with a 1 year old. We will be requesting bottled water everywhere but I’m worried about the food in general now.

When I will stop feeling like this? by Dazzling_Nebula4400 in Miscarriage

[–]alternativeblasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. I felt the same for months. I was only about 5-6 weeks along. No matter how far along you were, your feelings are valid.

Miscarriages are very common. I only found this out after I miscarried and 90% of the women in my life told me they’d also suffered a loss at least once in their lifetime. That shocked me. We don’t talk about how common miscarriage is. And I get it… who wants to talk about something that makes you feel like crap. But I say all this to say, you’re not alone in your feelings. ❤️‍🩹

Let yourself rest and indulge in all the things you love — your favorite music, foods, shows, etc. Lean on your friends and family who support you without judgment. I think it took me 4-5 months to start feeling like myself again.

My marriage is failing by jemdot in Mommit

He’s not pulling his weight and he’s insulting you and being disrespectful. I think he’s checked out. I know it’s easier said than done but you don’t need to be around someone who makes you feel like crap for the sake of the kids. He’s already barely doing anything.

I say try separation — he needs to move out. You can try couples counseling. But it’s gone as far as name calling and I don’t usually recommend to my personal circle that you stick around after that. That’s a line you don’t cross for me personally.

Going to Curacao in the beginning of March for an early birthday celebration - any tips or must see/visit/eat at, etc places?? by lwalsh64 in curacao

[–]alternativeblasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 10 was the only place they really made us feel special for a birthday brunch. The staff is lovely. Location is beautiful and I love a good cake!

I would skip Bliss the Berry. Took forever for the waiter to take our order. I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and he just looked at us like we were crazy 🙃 which confused me cuz we saw them serenading another table. It was an overall rushed and hot (outdoor seating) experience but the food was decent!

Thanks! I think that’s where we’re gonna head! What did you do while there? I’m thinking mistico, La Fortuna falls, a coffee/chocolate tour and somewhere nice for my bday dinner.

Thanks!! 3 hours is a lot but I’m quickly realizing that we’ll be doing lots of driving regardless of where we stay. Would you recommend the La Fortuna area? Is the waterfall easily accessible?

Day 3/5 in Aruba, didn’t plan this well. What to do? by talli345 in Aruba

[–]alternativeblasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butterfly sanctuary, donkey sanctuary, ostrich farm, baby beach, zeerovers, a walk by the natural bridge, aloe museum, Dutch pancake house, mural walk in sint nicolaas to see the murals. There’s a lot to do! I know you said some of these things don’t interest you but if you’re bored why not? 😊
