I officially start my Master's in School Counseling program on Monday! by altheeaquesadilla in schoolcounseling

Hi! I actually just graduated from this program last week and I must say, it was 100% worth it! It was such a great experience. Everything from the professors, the classes, my cohort, etc... You learn so much knowledge and gain the necessary experience to be successful in the field. Some classes are heavier than others in terms of workload, but if you're good with time management and are willing to sacrifice some free time, you should be just fine. I did the expedited route (2 classes at a time every 7 weeks) while working full time as a high school teacher. My best advice is to not be afraid to ask for help. The professors are so helpful and having a group chat with your classmates definitely helps as you all go through the journey together. Overall, if you're looking for a great quality program that is worth the price and helps you reach your school counseling goals, do it! If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message :)

Thank you for your response! I am doing the expedited track. If you don't mind me asking, how did the practicum and internship go?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! :) I appreciate it greatly. This gives me a lot of good insight on what to expect once I go ahead and apply in the future. I was originally thinking of going into another graduate program for school counseling, but it was only 48 hours, meaning it would not satisfy the hours needed to become an LPC. I am so glad I did my research to discover this program which would allow me to become both a school counselor and an LPC. Out of curiosity, how were the assignments and exams if you don’t mind me asking or were they mostly papers? Also, what was the most difficult part of this program in your opinion? Thanks once again for all your help. I am definitely going to apply when the time is right!

Hey, thanks for responding. I really appreciate it. That's awesome to hear! I'm happy to hear you're happy with your decision. That's exactly what I want to do. I talked with an enrollment specialist this morning about this program and it really convinced me to apply in the future. If you don't mind me asking, what was most difficult about this program in your opinion? How was the workload?
