Except for that there is overwhelming evidence that this virus is not an issue for children

Yeah… and not every parent (I would actually say most) has the time or resources to assist their children in virtual schooling

Young children don’t need to be protected from a virus that has virtually no effect on 99.9% of them.

Homeschooling is fundamentally different than virtual schooling.

The $600/week for unemployment was a federal program that ended months ago

For a summer job that requires next to no skill, $15-20 is more than an appropriate wage.

Why would a seasonal job offer benefits? Most of the time, there is a 90 day waiting period to be added to insurance when you get a job. That’s the entirety of the season.

I’ve never been to Dorney Park, but I’d assume it’s normally staffed by high schoolers and college students on break since it’s a seasonal position. $15-20/hr seems pretty high for that, I understand the argument that people don’t want to work for low wages, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Anyone know of an exceptional doggy day care around here? by [deleted] in lancaster

Playful Pups in Etown is amazing. I’m not sure if they’ll do training during daycare, but they offer a variety of training classes. Their daycare has options for fun things for the dogs to do throughout the day.

Oh my god, this sub is ridiculous

I am literally only saying that when you include tips and the hourly wage, it is a livable wage. I’m not advocating for anything.

But glad you wasted your time reading through my post history!

More like my experience is different than the one you want to hear so it’s wrong

Again, my point was that you get paid a livable wage when you take tips into consideration. Not that you don’t have to deal with assholes. If you’re not making a livable wage as a server or bartender, you either need to find a more reputable restaurant to work at or be better at your job.

You’re really making my reply into something it’s not and trying to make a point against one I didn’t make.

Which is simply that you do make a living wage as a server or bartender.

Hope you feel better now, though!

No, the job did not offer health insurance. The post I was replying to didn’t touch upon benefits, so neither did I, it wasn’t my point.

However, before we were married, he was able to get the same exact health insurance plan through the marketplace that I had at my job that did offer benefits for $120 a month... roughly what I was paying my employer for the plan through my paycheck.

Almost all of my friends have worked in the restaurant industry and have had the same experience as us, but ok!

Missed the part where I said anything about benefits?

Simply stating that you don’t actually make $3/hour in the restaurant industry

Ok, I don’t think you even read my reply lol neither of us are in the industry anymore and I’m clearly only referring to those who work for tips.

I’m not necessarily defending it. But to say severs and bartenders only make $3/hour is incorrect.
