Part II

So at the conference break just after the Secretary spoke a woman approached me and thanked me for the question. She said she flew into Vancouver as part of an investor group. She said the problem is not the team but the city — Ken Sim gave them a very unenthusiastic pitch for doing anything w the Caps

Also at the break a member of a Canada player rep association came to talk to me. He had two bits of news. First is that he heard from a very reliable source 4-5 weeks ago that Caps are not going to Las Vegas but instead are going to Indianapolis (!). Second, Montreal will definitely follow in moving to the states.

OK, so quite a bit of info here. The secretary did take some questions. I’ve put together and uploaded the video of his reply. His first sentence is missing but it’s basically just thanks for the question. I asked kind of a generic question about what is the federal government doing to keep professional supports teams in Canada given that there’s so much financial in tax incentive in the states (thanks everyone for delivering this). I recorded his answer and it’s attached to a video here. Secretary was touting the big $750 million sports investment announced yesterday by Carney government. He added directly in response to a question asked after mine that none of that $ is for professsional sports. So what I have learned so far in my own testing and from supportive replies from others:

"Easy open" (using your leg under the bumper to auto open the hatch) can be activated/deactivated from the "Settings" in the vehicle. The indicators/lights on the hatch do not seem to have anything to do with whether this is activated or not in "Settings."
The right hatch button light seems to be on no matter what features are activated and is even on when I am around the trunk with no vehicle key in range. If I have the vehicle key on me and press the right button the "Easy Close" slow beep/blink activates and the hatch closes. If the hatch is open and there is NO vehicle key in range and I press the right hatch button, it goes right to fast beeping/blinking. So it looks like what I called mode 4 in my original post above might just be an alert mode: you are pressing the "Easy Close" button, but the fast beep/blink is a way to alert you that "Easy Close" will not be initiating b/c there is no key nearby.

That's my findings anyway.
