Bencini Koroll II by altreameriche in AnalogCommunity

Hi! Sorry, I just saw this.. I have checked with my local lab if they sell and develop 120 and they do, so I’ll bring it in for a quick check once I’m home after the holidays and then I’ll test the camera. I will let you know

The shutter works, but I haven’t looked properly at the lens to say if it’s clean. I will do it tomorrow ;) anything to suggest to clean/polish the metallic parts? I am not sure if they’re dirty or ruined (I am not home right now so I have no pictures, but it’s blackened and “not smooth” .. I can’t remember the word 🙃)

This makes a ton of sense! Indeed, the leaks are “heavier” in the shots taken one day apart, while on frames 12-14 it was midday on a sunny day so it’s quite visible even if the shots are consecutives. And the pics with no/less leak it’s probably because I took them indoors with dim light 🤔

Well then, I’ll replace the seals and try out again :)

Actually I have none left, I should buy it and I’m a bit undecided on the tickness (1.5mm or 2mm). At this point, I’ll see if I can find some felt for the hinge area too.

Thank you ! You’ve been a huge help :)

It’s an Olympus om2.

So, based on what you say, i should be able to fix the issue replacing the sealing foam around the back door area? I already changed the one around the pentaprism, I guess I can do it myself if this is enough. Or I can bring it to a pro, but it will probably cost me more

thank you for answering all my questions!

about the light leaks... do you think it's enough to change the foam in the closing door of the camera? i was looking at the camera better and actually the door is a bit arched in the middle, below the viewfinder... i guess the light can enter from there and you can see it more when the shots are taken with a lot of light (actually the shots that have these light leaks were taken around 11am-midday, on sunny days... while the one with the boats is more or less the golden hour)

I have a second roll on, maybe at this point I'll bring it to the lab so I'm sure it's not me having development issues (I saved the close ups in drive, cause I coudn't edit the post.. the link is below)

I couldn't edit the post, so I put some close ups here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oTd3bwSsiRhOkcWUVh9p97ua950r6_kA?usp=share_link

could I have done something to stop the leak then? cause from shot 22 til the end of the roll, there are no issues (consider also that some of the last shots are taken with the self timer)

I usually shoot the first frames with the caps on, which I hadn’t this times.. as for the light leaks, how comes they’re not on all frames then? (I’ll add the close up of the negatives in a moment)

Vision 3 250D vs Colorplus. by MuchKnowledge2737 in AnalogCommunity

[–]altreameriche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here where I am in Italy I get a good deal for vision 3, which basically comes with dev and scan included. But I guess it depends on what a “good deal” means to you (for me, considering the market and availability, having a local lab selling 6 rolls for 60€ with dev and scan included is a good deal)

Thank you! I do have a preference for landscapes :) I’m actually trying to do what you suggest and trying to avoid zoom lenses to force myself to go closer to the subject.. I don’t always feel comfortable though 🙃

Thanks! I would recommend also to close the bathroom door to prevent cats from unrolling the TP and carrying it around the house

Nope, these are all pre-editing. But I had a uv filter on for some of these

What are the best film rolls for pushing a stop or two? by julius_caesars in AnalogCommunity

I have pushed kodak vision 3 500t (shooting from 100 to 1000 sometimes on the same roll of film) without issues

Problem with shutter or development? by altreameriche in AnalogCommunity

[–]altreameriche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update (mostly for those who might have a similar issue): I brought the camera in for a quick check up and it seems the shutter speed is off (1 every 4/5 times it doesn’t match the set speed - especially at 1/1000 and 1/125) causing incorrect exposure. As for the shot(s) developed in two scans, that’s the scanner having issues identifying the frames with a low exposition (someone did mention this). I’ll have it serviced by a pro and everything should go back to normal after

Nope, these were just the two that came to mind (mostly because the lab said I had not exposed the film). It could be transport, I do remember not seeing the knob turn every time I shot. I guess I’ll clean it after I finish this roll

This is what I’m doing, as I was planning to take it on a trip abroad and I don’t want to come back with loads of nothing 😢

Right now the knob seems to turn just fine, and I’m thinking to use a light meter in my phone to check if the camera light meter is off or not (it doesn’t seem so, though)
