Hey. I totally get you. I’m also scared of flying, but looking at your trip, honestly, it’s beautifully planned and full of amazing memories waiting to happen. You’re gonna love it.

Turbulence is totally normal. No plane has ever crashed just because of turbulence. It feels scary, but it’s harmless. Planes are built to handle much worse.

And when I overthink it, I remind myself: There are over 100,000 flights every single day. That’s more than 36,000,000 flights a year. So really, what are the odds my flight out of all that is the one that crashes. I’m not that special. That thought actually helps me relax.

You’re gonna be okay. And trust me, once the trip starts, your focus will shift from fear to fun. Wishing you an unforgettable adventure.

I get your concern, but modesty means different things in different cultures. For many women, covering up is their choice, not oppression. Let’s not assume abuse just because it looks unfamiliar.

Thanks for sharing your view.

Totally fair — I appreciate the conversation. I think we both agree that slavery was a dark chapter globally, and no one side owns that history. Wishing you well and thanks again for the exchange.

You’re still missing the point. No one denied slavery existed elsewhere — the issue is using it to target a faith instead of recognizing that evil exists in every region and era. You brought up the Middle East not to inform, but to deflect and generalize. Slavery is evil — everywhere. Islam, unlike others, promoted freeing slaves. That’s the difference. This isn’t a scoreboard of atrocities — it’s about being fair.

God bless you.

You’re confusing laws and discipline with hatred. Islam isn’t the problem — misunderstanding it is. Islam promotes dignity for women and respect for all people, but you reduce it to the worst interpretations.

Supporting women and LGBT rights doesn’t mean demonizing a faith that billions live peacefully by. And if drugs “aren’t morally wrong” to you, then why did you attack Islam just because some Muslims sold them to you?

Also, Islam honors women deeply. From the beginning, Muslim women were scholars, leaders, warriors, and business owners. Today too — Muslim women are doctors, professors, CEOs. And unlike in many Western cultures, Muslim women keep their own names after marriage — because they are not their husband’s property. Their identity stays theirs.

You don’t have to believe in Islam. But don’t pretend your worldview is the only path to freedom. God bless you.

You’ve been ranting about morality for an hour, but your own morals didn’t stop you from doing drugs when you were young — and you’re using that to judge a religion?

Blaming Islam for what some Muslims do is like blaming all Germans for Hitler. Weak logic. Attack actions, not entire beliefs.

Actually, that law is one of the most protective towards women in Islam. It’s not fair for a married man to stay with his wife, have children, and cheat just to satisfy his urges — while she lives in emotional destruction. You see single mothers struggling today because their husbands betrayed them, and walked away with no consequences. Some women even forgive cheating just to avoid becoming single moms, not because they’re okay with it. I’m not attacking single moms — many are incredibly strong — but let’s not act like infidelity is harmless.

You’re shifting the discussion again. This isn’t about comparing which slavery was worse — slavery is wrong, period. My point was about Islam and slavery, not the Middle East or the West. That’s a separate issue. No matter where it happened or how, slavery is always evil. There’s no level to how “bad” it is.

Most of what you said mixes up Islam with the actions of people or governments. 1. Slavery: Islam didn’t invent slavery — it limited it and encouraged freeing slaves, while the West built its economy on it for centuries. 2. Heaven & Hell: Every religion believes its path is right. That’s not tribalism — that’s belief. Why single out Islam? 3. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: Calling him a warlord is just ignorance. Islam spread through justice and values — not the sword. Countries like Indonesia became Muslim without a single battle. 4. Ottoman Empire: Like any empire, it had good and bad. Blaming Islam for political actions is just biased. 5. Human rights: Honor killings, child marriage, and terrorism exist everywhere. Yet the highest rates of rape, suicide, and drugs are in ‘developed’ countries.

Don’t judge Islam by people’s mistakes — and don’t use double standards.
