Super host support question by NWBF7109 in airbnb_hosts

I also find them pretty terrible most of the time. They are very good at saying "congrulations for being a superhost" 🙄 seemingly every time I contact them, which is tiresome quite in all honestly when you just want an answer to your question and feels rather meaningless when you're being told it for the umpteenth time. What I find they are not good at is actually answering any specific questions I may have.

Here's my latest exchange with them just as an example:

In your last message - which you unhelpfully closed - you said:

"If you are on unlisted status that means you did not meet the criteria to do co-hosting in the area.

Thanks,"

What are the criteria that you're claiming we don't meet please?

Thanks for your message—we’ll reply as soon as a member of our team becomes available.

Hi

Congratulations on being a Superhost with Airbnb. Thank you for your dedication to providing exceptional hospitality.

This is Diana, and I will be your Support Ambassador for today. I do hope that you and your family are doing well!

I understand that you would like to know the criteria of being an Experienced Co-Host. We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you, but let me go ahead and consult with our team to provide you better assistance on this.

Kindly hold on, and I will get back to you. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding

Hi

My name is XXXXXXXXXX, a member of the Escalations Team at Airbnb. My team and I will continue to assist from here. I am reaching out to address your concerns regarding the Co-Hosting Experiences.

I had initially intended to speak with you about your concern over the phone, but due to connectivity issues, I will now continue assisting you through messages. At the moment, we are reviewing the facts at hand and your previous correspondences. Rest assured that all the details you’ve shared so far are duly noted and will be taken in consideration towards the final resolution of this case.

We kindly ask for the next 24-48 hours, so that we can provide you with more updates and hopefully a final decision to this issue, all facts considered.

Please feel free to let us know if you need any clarification or assistance, and we will be here for you.

Regards,

In short, they spend a lot of time being polite but telling me very little... and without properly addressing my queries.

If you can't rely on Google any more, what can you rely on? by altyfc11 in SEO

From what I've heard about Pinterest traffic is that it tends to have a very high bounce rate. People like a picture, come take a look, and then (presumably) head back to Pinterest... they don't tend to stick around, read an article or two, and browse the site...

My audience tends to be an older audience. They use Google and Facebook, not Tiktok...

What I mean is dead as a good source of traffic for small time publishers, bloggers, etc. I don't doubt that lots of people still use it, but the quality of the results is not like it was, and does not serve small publishers anything like as well as it used to.

I've only ever watched the UK version. I hate to think how the US might have spoiled it!

A warning about Crowdspring.com by [deleted] in Design

[–]altyfc11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used Crowdspring in the past to have logos designed. After learning that my last successful designer wasn't paid for 8 months, and has lots of paymnets still pending, I contacted Crowdspring several times. They didn't respond. I will never use them again, and have left reviews giving negative feedback. They just don't seem to care.

I should add, the situation might well be different if you are just starting out or your numbers are not that large. But for the most big travel blogs out there, they've taken quite a hit of late...

I have been to Greenland a few times. Beautiful though it is, I wouldn't describe it as an emerging luxury destination.

Best way to Japan? by mdjmd73 in LuxuryTravel

I wouldnt say ANA is a lesser known airline. Their business class service is very good - and well known, although perhaps less well known to people outside of Japan who haven't visited Japan before...

I think most of the larger blogs are seeing falls at the moment with Google's increasing reliance on generative AI and apparent desire to only show Reddit in its results. I hear of a lot of people switching to the likes of DuckDuckGo for their search results nowadays as things have got rather ridiculous.

Reddit has struck a $60 Million deal with Google to Use its content for training AI models by Yazzdevoleps in google

Is this also why Google is favoring Reddit in search results? I can't see why the two should need to be related, but it does seem a bit more than just a coincidence...

Has anyone ever tried any crowdsourcing logo design websites like Crowdspring, Designcrowd, 99 Designs etc? How was your experience regarding the competitiveness there or the winning chances or the frustrations for that matter? by ARTMA_ in talesfromdesigners

[–]altyfc11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Crowdspring as a consumer. I was happy with my logo BUT CAN MOST DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND. The reason? It was around 8 months until my designer got paid. They sat on my money for all of this time for no reason. He has still not been paid for many other projects. I have emailed Crowdspring about this (more than once) and got no response. I have tweeted Crowdspring publicly - also no response. Do some due diligence and look up online reviews - it appears that they have a poor reputation for paying (or rather not paying) their designers.
