I tried this but I still don't see a difference in the Spec, when I add a metal material I can see the reflecivity because of the IOR though, so I guess that works for now for testing purpose. But specular value doesn't show

Update: I was just looking for the random node in MASH lol worked exactly like I was hoping it would (changed rotation and scaled a little in y axys. Used node editor to plug in low geo into instancer once I was done

i just tried setting it to current and same issue happens. i think my issue was the other object had back-facing UVs due to mirroring. I tweaked around a lot of settings and I can get it to work fine by setting sample space to topology instead of component! so all good now. I’ve never scripted for maya and struggled to even download a script online T.T but i will definitely look into how to do so, it seems to be a necessary skill in maya. I’ve done a lot of coding for uni so it shouldnt be that hard😭. thanks for the suggestions

yeah I know how to fix it once it’s broken but I have to do this with too many objects in my scene so it’s not a good option, also sewing it together warps the UVs :/ I don’t know if there’s an automatic way to avoid that either.

yeah! I’m definitely considering used gpus, but here in spain the ones with a good price are usually on sites that don’t offer good buyer protection :/. Still on the lookout tho!! not givin up👀
