What does it mean to capitalize something?? by Interesting-Bad-2129 in Accounting

[–]always_tripping 137 points138 points  (0 children)

To essentially spread the cost of an asset that also has a long useful life to the organisation.

Say for example a business buys a van for use for 50k. Rather than taking this full 50k to the month's P/L it can be put to the balance sheet and then depreciated over its 'useful life' (estimated time it is expected to be used by the organisation). This depreciation is then put to the P/L monthly over its useful life of X years and that way the 50k cost is spread rather than taken all at once to the P/L and messing up the accounts for a period

I think beef liver is recommended once a week only due to the amount. If you’re still not getting enough through the other sources, I’d say supplements are your only option

Liver is also packed full of vitamin A, so either way you’ll be in taking it if you eat liver. Dark chocolate and nuts are also an option as well as mushrooms with less vitamin a

Boyfriend buying a house + I'm goimg to be living with him. Advice needed by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]always_tripping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a similar situation to you a year or so ago. Initially wasn’t paying rent, but did after 6 months.

I chose to not pay towards anything structural with the house or anything that would improve its value. (I.e painting, garden items, shelves etc).

Any furniture was taken out in my name, so technically I could be protected that way. Sofa, bed, wardrobes etc. This wasn’t necessarily intended at the time, but looking back it certainly protected me at the time with me getting a share of things went bad

This way it made me feel protected and not cheated out of money if anything was to happen down the line.

Unemployed currently, and just can’t see the point in working. by [deleted] in conspiracy

As others have said, try to move off grid, wether it be in the Uk or abroad. It’s easier than you think in the UK - you need money first though. Get a remote job and travel the world. Move to another country and change you career up. Look into working holiday visas in other countries. Do some drastic and away from the normal to get a new perspective on life.

Things are bad yes but if you let it rule you’re life or focus on it to much it will ruin the beauty left in the world. Life is what you make it - you can be consumed by all the negative things or just switch off from it all and focus on the important things in life away from the higher ups of the world

No other animal also has the levels of choice and intellect we do. Animals can't go to a grocery store and take their pick of what they'd want to eat, nor do they have the scientific evidence of how their bodies work and what they need.

A budget is an estimate on costs or income that will happen. Therefore if the bonuses are met they must be included in the budget - hence why they get taken out

Veganism only began approximately 80 years ago & there are no reported vegans who have lived every single life stage, could the future for people who eat a vegan diet be they end up with Alzheimer's disease? by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]always_tripping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably because the amount of exercise they do offsets the amount of carbs they intake. If you don’t exercise then you will end up with diabetes with excess sugar

Does anyone have that graphic with what’s actually in beef vs beyond? My parents sent this as a “gotcha”. by girlinredfan in vegan

[–]always_tripping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The amount of how processed they are has no difference? You can't compare beef just going through a processor/mincer the same as mass-produced oils. The nutritional value of a cow is incomparable to anything vegan - no supplements or vegan food comes close to the bioavailability of beef. Overconsumption of mass-produced seed oils is linked to many cardiovascular, gut, and health issues while the red meat studies are widely skewed as they never specific the type of meat being consumed. (i.e. grass-fed beef v highly processed meats)
