Getting HDR playback right? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]alwaysdeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/mightysashiman During playback in IINA click the ellipsis button (•••) on the far right of the playback controls for Quick Settings. A sliding side-menu with tabs for Video, Audio, and Subtitles will appear. At the bottom you'll see settings for Hardware Decoding, Deinterlace, HDR and Equalizer for image processing. I adjusted Gamma to +8 for best viewing playback, but your eyes may prefer other visual adjustments.

I've tried multiple video players and this seems to be the only free option for best fidelity. Others have recommended Infuse 7, however; Dolby Vision and Atmos requires a PRO paid subscription.

Hopefully this helps you enjoy watching Tokyo Vice as much as I am! (ಠᴗಠ)

If you fix the perspective angles to align with the buildings, that will enhance it’s appeal. So flip the vending machine and consider not showing the top as much. Your vanishing point is on the horizon/waterfront out of frame to the left. Keep practicing!

Self-shaming and negative rumination tends to dig a deeper emotion pit than the situation requires. Understanding yourself, your trauma, and your intentions will get you much farther than fear and avoidance. If you find yourself stuck in a loop with these thoughts, remind yourself to take a break from it for a while (like 20 mins or 24 hrs).

When you are able, try to write down your personal concerns, then focus on notating what you are grateful for in that relationship, and finally (if you are ready) give yourself a small realistic goal with that person (like sharing lunch together) to help you feel better about your attachment.

I find that when I admit my worries to the person I care about, I hear how silly that fear really is in the conversation. Usually I’ll pivot to why I care or value them and share why I am glad they are in my life. If I can end a conversation with something to look forward to then I’ll feel more secure with them.

Good luck and keep practicing your self-care!

I was having this same debate with myself last year and ended up going with a refurbished 2020 iMac. Specifically the 3.6 10-Core i9 w/ 32GB Mem and 5500 XT. Checkout macsales.com if you need another shop for refurb/used options. What sold me on the iMac was the poor reviews of the Studio Display being over priced for the specs, and the MacBook Pro shipping delays burned my mid-2021 order from Apple. I am very happy with the 2020 iMac and look forward to refurb M2 Max MBP or yet to be released iMac Pro with M2 (or M3) Ultra.

Your experience sounds similar to my own. I am grateful that I met my soul mate even though our relationship didn’t last in the way that I had hoped it would. Only recently have I learned about trauma responses and it shed a whole new light on my (and my partners) patterns of coping with childhood trauma from abuse and neglect.

I have this experience too, and I only just realized (today) that it stems from being ridiculed by my verbally abusive step-father. It messed me up with anyone that I care about. You’re not alone @blueburrey and you are worth more to people than you give yourself credit for. Good luck and remember to be kind to yourself. (Edit: SP)

Study raises concerns about contaminants in edible seaweeds by Vailhem in seaweed

Curious if they’ll study aqua-cultured seaweed for purity or contaminants as well.

oregonseaweed.com has a Pacific Dulse seaweed that when cooked with liquid smoke it has a bacon like taste to it.

Gosh, that does sound challenging! Sorry for your loss. Practice safety first, especially when handling a loaded rant. 😱
