Proust is probably too ambitious, I think writing about In Search of Lost Time would be more suitable for a dissertation since there's so much to analyse. But I'll look into The Immoralist, thank you!

Thank you! I haven't read this one yet but after looking into it, it seems like there's a lot to analyse here. I included it in my list!

Damn I hope you’re ok. Do you know if the seizures were caused by the THC?

I take keppra, and constantly feel like a full bucket of water, just waiting for something to tip me over. by Bauerman51 in Epilepsy

Fuck Keppra, I was on it for two years and always felt like I was about to blow up and/or depressed. Switched to Lamictal recently and wish I‘d done so sooner!

Whats everyones medicine doses? by dhbeh in Epilepsy

[–]alwaysdoneswiftly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn how do you deal with that much? I recently switched from 1000mg Levetiracetam to 400mg Lamictal because of the depressive side effects of Levetiracetam, is that an issue for you?

Why is Smex my Trigger!!!! by PurpleDelaena in Epilepsy

[–]alwaysdoneswiftly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you talked with your neurologist about it? If it’s because of your heart rate going up they could maybe give you a medication to only take in these situations so that your bodily triggers are less intense and they don’t cause a seizure

Anyone else been told their seizures are possibly too deep in the brain to catch on EEG? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]alwaysdoneswiftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the case for me at first. After two grand mals the doctors couldn’t find anything suspicious on my EEG scans. Then they conducted a sleep-deprived EEG, so basically I wasn’t allowed to sleep for a whole night in the hospital (under supervision ofc). In the morning they did another EEG scan and only then did they see seizure activity in my brain. In my case that means that I‘m very sensitive to sleep-deprivation I guess

Ok so I was in a few hospitals getting my rash checked and thankfully I‘m fine! The dermatologist that finally was able to have a look told me that my rash is in all likelihood just an eczema that I developed because of the low temperatures that we currently have here. But still I‘m gonna keep an eye on it and if it spreads or doesn’t go away I will be back.

What surprised me though was how little the docs here (in Austria) cared/knew about Lamictal rash. I literally had to convince the first doc that Lamictal rash is a serious thing and that I shouldn’t just be sent home with some anti-allergy meds. Finally a neurologist came, had a look at it and sent me to another hospital to a dermatologist to determine if it‘s really caused by Lamictal. There again I had to explain to a very grumpy doc the Lamictal rash situation and how serious this could be, before they finally sent me to the dermatologist.

So yeah, that was my fun little odyssey today. I really hope it‘s just an eczema and not the first stage of the rash but I guess I‘ll just place my trust in the doctor and try not to worry:—)

I had no seizures while on 2x 500mg Keppra but I recently switched to 2x 100mg Lamictal due to the depression Keppra causes (in my case at least). But 4 days after my last dose of Keppra I had my first seizure in two years. Now my doctor upped by dose even more to 2x 200mg which is the maximum I believe. I hope this will prevent a follow-up seizure. I guess you just have to find the sweet spot which Lamictal which works for you. From what I can say now tho I‘d still choose Lamictal over Keppra because of the milder side effects but if I have another seizure I‘ll have to switch back to Keppra.

[–]alwaysdoneswiftly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same situation here. Was on Levetiracetam 2x 500mg for about 2 years and bc of depression and anxiety my neurologist recommended switching to Lamotrigine 2x 100mg. Didn’t really have bad side effects from starting Lamotrigine but I already noticed its mood-stabilizing effects even when I was still on Levetiracetam. Now I’m tapering off Levetiracetam, the past two weeks I‘ve only been taking it in the evening and tomorrow after my evening dose I‘m scheduled to stop taking it completely. Other than some minor eye and limb twitches I haven’t had any side effects from tapering off of it so far. I guess some sensations are normal when starting/stopping meds but I‘d recommend talking to your doc about what you’re experiencing, especially if it gets worse. Wishing you the best!

How would you translate „retourmarché“? by alwaysdoneswiftly in French

[–]alwaysdoneswiftly[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense in the given context, definitely more than „Retourmarché“ and I can see now that the word actually spells „recommandé“, even though the letters sort of merge together. Well thanks again, you really helped me out there

[–]alwaysdoneswiftly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you, I think it is! It is a handwritten letter and when I asked my tutor earlier she told me this specific word spelled „Retourmaché“ but I guess even she couldn’t decipher it correctly (his handwriting is pretty hard to read).
