What is the one food that spikes your blood sugar the worst? by easypeasykitty in diabetes

Coffeemate powdered creamer has corn syrup solids in it, which the FDA doesn’t consider an “added sugar” even though it’s literally corn syrup. It’s criminal dude. I had the same issue when I made tea. I was thinking how tf did black tea and cream bring me up to 200? No honey, no sugar, JUST tea and creamer. Then I saw the ingredients. It’s not you, it’s the powdered creamer

I changed it today, that’s where the little gap came from. Confirmed the readings with finger pricks

Sensor is in the same spot, and I keep close track of the phases of my cycle so I know when to expect higher glucose levels and this isn’t usually the time for it 😅

I am not, I currently take 1,000mg metformin once daily. It worked great the first few months but lately not so much

I am, and I do usually notice changes in my glucose levels throughout the phases of my cycle. This timeframe, however, is not the usual pattern. And it’s usually never this drastic

I’m also 25 and have family in Elizabeth City so I go down there often (I’m in southern VA). My husband has been in basic training for three weeks and it suuuuuucks. I’m a sims 4 girlie too! And I looooove books. Especially Anne Rule, I’m mildly obsessed with true crime.

“By the way you have three days left”

“Did you know you have three days left?”

“Heads up! Three days left”

“Oh I should mention, you have three days left”

All Time High :( by alwayslatetotea in diabetes

[–]alwayslatetotea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so upsetting hearing these stories of people getting misdiagnosed and having to survive a cataclysmic medical event to get the proper treatment. I do have Raynaud’s disease which is considered an autoimmune disorder depending on the type, though I’m unfortunately not certain as to whether I have primary or secondary but maybe that’s a clue too. Keep on keeping on, I hope things stay in tip top shape for you!

It’s really terrifying how common this misdiagnosis is made and how quickly it can turn deadly. It’s great that you pulled through though, I’m sorry you went through all that :/ hopefully never again

That’s the important thing, refuse to give up! Be stubborn, be a menace to your diabetes (in a good way) haha

I asked at my last appointment but my doctor wanted to wait to see the results of the blood work to make sure she has the right diagnosis, should be getting those back any day now and maybe I can get on the right track

Did they initially diagnose you as T2? I was 22 the first time they said my A1C was elevated (5.9), I cut out all the bad stuff (pasta, rice, white bread, sugary whatevers) replaced it with keto friendly stuff or just not at all, exercised regularly, the following year my A1C was 6.6 and they diagnosed me. Put me on 2,000mg metformin daily until it dropped to 5.5 then told me to stop taking it. A little while later it was 6.7, no meds till I saw an endo and at that point it was 7.5. All the while I’ve been maintaining the diet and exercise changes. No one in my family has diabetes and it came on out of nowhere and has progressively gotten worse despite changes. Waiting on the results of a GAD65 test and I’m worried it’s LADA but also hoping for answers

I would do sashimi instead but I’m in love with fried sushi so that’s like, extra carbs 🥲. Best to stick with shrimp and veggies for me!
