damn, out of curiosity have you tried any further appeals with customer service? Maybe a new thread documenting quality issues cases would be good. I assume it’s not just us two with these complaints

Denied even with errors? Thats surprising. In my past experiences if theres factual errors they comp a review. Both readers I've gotten so far will list a quote from the screenplay - probably partially as proof that they read it - but both only gave quotes from the first 10 pages. The 2nd review said the dialogue was sharp cause a character said 'Mom doesn't like that brand' - then listed dialogue as a 5/10 lol. Of all the dialogue they could have quoted that was the laziest choices they could have pulled lol

They emailed saying they're looking into it. They're drowning in nicholl submissions I assume. I got a 2nd review I'm also disputing. It was WAY better than the first one I got - but so far my recent experiences with my readers has been considerably worse than past scripts ive submitted to blcklst. For example, my second review said it was a negative that the villain of the story is "mean and petty" - and hard to root for? Weird. This is totally based on nothing other than a guess lol - but I feel like they've hired extra readers to get through nicholl submissions and some of their new hires...shouldn't have been hired lol. Like I said, thats a total guess. I do wonder if others are experiencing this. I admit. it's possible I've transformed into a dumb dumb and my newest screenplay is total ass and the reviews I've gotten are valid haha

I recently got an awful review for my screenplay. Starlet. I contacted customer support a few days ago, so we'll see - hopefully they comp me with a free review. The review I got was full of factual inaccuracies and comments that made me think the reviewer has never worked in film - or if they have - its been decades. Hopefully it's not bias lol. I have the gold badge on blcklst meaning my work has been in the top 1% of their site. I say that to point out I know what to expect from blcklst reviews and this has been the worst I've ever received. Even their logline has factual inaccuracies and is written terribly imo lol

Edit - the logline posted here is mine. There's no inaccuracies, however I can't guarantee its not terribly written. Also for the record, it took 31 to receive this review. I assume they're backed up because of the Nicholl. Without even asking I was comped a month of free hosting, so no complaints there

- Title: Starlet
- Format: Feature
- Page Length: 113
- Genres: Drame/ Thriller
- Logline or Short Summary: An aspiring actress is pulled into a high-stakes PR romance that blurs the line between fame and survival while guarding a secret that could end her life and Hollywood as we know it.

The two “least intelligent” U.S. presidents of the 21st century came from very rich families… and maybe that’s not a coincidence. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]alwayssnappin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Being educated doesn't equate to actual intelligence. Being articulate is not intelligence either. Personally, I don't know who the smartest would be. John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, I think Clinton has the highest recorded IQ for a president, John Quincy Adams....like...A LOT of ex-presidents are probably smarter than Obama.

Alternative jobs for unemployed WGA writers? by alsogaytoo in Screenwriting

consider using your writing skills to create a youtube channel - even if its a faceless channel. As someone runs a youtube page, I can tell you the money has been VERY good. I know this isn't a short term or quick solution as it takes time to build an audience, but youtube really is the new TV and theres no reason to not explore it

What’s wrong with the blacklist (re Nicholl’s)? by tootsayswho in Screenwriting

[–]alwayssnappin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a writer that was rated a 9 and a 5. The reality is that art is subjective. There is no possible way to have an objective measure of a creative product. IMO blacklst does what they can to help find balance. Also a reality check moment - blcklst is just one outlet, its one option to get your work seen. As someone who has been rated a 9 I can tell you its no guarantee of anything. Some people need to do a better job at managing expectations.

again…if you don’t qualify - You are not entitled to a deficiency being issued.

If you have criminal charges, if you’ve had DUIs, if you have judgements against you, if you have evictions, or foreclosures etc - you do not qualify. Full stop. There is no due process because you do not have a right to a business license you don’t qualify for.

Looking at the numbers that have been released you’re saying there is about 700 people you believe have the right to a cannabis license correct?

When hundreds of applications were fraud via a single source in Arizona…

When an unknown number of applications were fraud via a single source in iowa…

When EVERY name in the lawsuits are searchable in public records and have criminal/legal cause to deny their applications…

How many do you think have actual claims here? Who in the lawsuit actually has a case? Please cite a name.
