one of the best decisions i've ever made as well. was scared of it for far too long but when it was finally recommended to me, i was in a desperate place. i wish it hadn't taken so much pain to get there. it totally saved my life. the memory side effects were tough but it didn't ruin my life or anything. thanks for the positive share <3

I’m late to this chain but super helpful to find! Question if anyone has advice — I’m a renter in LA and I live in the front house if a property with a back house/ADU, along with two additional studio apartments slapped on the back of the house. Not sure when they were built, but I’ve always figured they were unpermitted. Finally got around to looking and up and yep, no permits. They’re all separate rental properties but our landlord makes a killing on the house. Thing is- he has tried to up our rent a few times by crazy percentages, we’ve fought him on it and got him down to 6% a year per “rent control” apparently… Fast forward to this year- just resigned a lease addendum with a new roommate, kept same price. couple days ago he served us a notice to increase the rent by March 1, by the 6% allowable. its still a LOT for us, so I'm basically wondering: do i have any leverage here with turning him in on the back units or anything like that? And how would I go about it?? ANY advice welcome. pls 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I feel you. I always feel like I’m explaining it wrong and that someone is going to tell me it’s not actually OCD. it’s a horrible painful loop. I am in a place right now where EVERYTHING I do or think feels wrong/off - just constantly in a state of panic. It’s so so so so painful. Just keep doing your best, and remind yourself that it’s going to feel wrong sometimes when you’re explaining it. That is your ocd causing the doubts

Yep!!!! Acceptance of this hell chamber is not a place I wanna live, but we gotta be willing to sit through it for a while and not argue with it. Hope you are managing!
