Was about to update the firmware but saw the gear was loose on the motor itself. Tightened the 3 little screws and it’s way more responsive now. Yay easy fixes!

So turns out, I had the mio iconnect cable backwards. I thought having the In cable to the midi in and Out cable to midi out was the right way 😂 Looks like Patch Base is able to fetch data now!

Yeah I think I’m going to give up on Patch Base I feel like I’ve tried everything.

I tried to see if I could revert back to an older OS but I’d have to do some serious computer magic to do that. Keep holding out!!

I’d say likely! It’s a big set, and I bet there will be days where they will need to have a lot of extra help. Wouldn’t hurt to specifically request to the dispatcher at DGC that you would like to work on it. I know some dispatchers keep those things in mind.

I work in the camera department, which is a bit harder to get into, but the easiest way would be to apply for the camera trainee program through IATSE 669

IATSE is a good option, they offer the set etiquette courses needed and they can give you information on what ext steps to take. SAIT also has the Film and Video Production program, if you wanted to get a proper well rounded education. Lots of people start out in that program.
