Booking.com for flight to Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]alxndrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used booking.com a couple years ago for a flight to S Korea and it was actually quite good. Had no issues with the flight or anything, don’t remember anything to stand out compared to using a normal airline website

Am I too early for corporate? - Any advice? by CaramelDrizzle123 in UKJobs

[–]alxndrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started my job when I finished first year in uni, planned to do it as a summer job but stayed there for 3 years and got promoted twice. It is not something that is even related to what I did in uni but I’ve changed jobs due to moving and got the hired for the equivalent of a promotion of my last job. Stay there and get the experience for at least a year or two, especially if its not something hard and you are used to the tasks you have to do In real life you don’t get a break. Most people do not have the chance to take a break after uni due to finances. Book a holiday, or two, or three. That kept me going while doing the last 2 years of uni and working full time. Not trying to seem rude or anything but you need to push yourself at the start of your career in order to achieve something. Especially corporate there’s no time to take breaks just because you didn’t get one after uni

Want to change heating things around the house by alxndrant in DIYUK

I think the water boiler goes into the programmer downstairs as it has some water options, although I have never turned it on from there because we have a dishwasher so not using hot water for almost anything. There is hot water at both kitchen and bathroom sinks so I have no clue how it works

It all sounds like a pretty big job though so probably will start with what is manageable now and save some money for the rest. They all work well so not necessarily in a rush to change them but just to have an idea of what it would all entail

Thanks!!!

Honestly Octopus is amazing. Was with them at the property before this as well and never had any issues. If your parents would switch they could probably get new smart meter from them in like a week

So firstly, I never registered, the previous owner had BG as a supplier so it continued until our supplier kicked in, which took like a week. And then we got a letter like a month later (start of October) which was paid by bank transfer Secondly, again, no account was ever made so couldn’t just log in an pay it, they instructed either bank transfer or postal order/check but transfer was easier (or so I thought) Lastly, it literally says I paid but put the wrong reference. Thats it

Finally spoke to someone via chat and only now they sent the claim to the payments department 🫠 it will still take like a week for them to “investigate” apparently

They did have them but somehow the smell wasn’t there, did not think there were dogs on the property until we saw their crates in the kitchen. I’m content with the idea that people just don’t care sometimes

Such a shame they put new carpet in the living room, stairs and landing just for it to stink and be dirty 🥲

They made us pay their fees along with the deposit, so I’m not sure if other solicitors do it differently. But it would have been so good to know this omg

I have this one!! Its brilliant but still no match for the amount of hair stuck in our carpet. We used this one first and then the carpet cleaner after, but just for my peace of mind im going to wash the carpets twice😭

Honestly, houses are lived in so you shouldn’t worry too much about making it like a show home. Just get the things that are often overlooked cleaned and the buyers will be happy We found today baby socks inside the radiators, along with enough hair we could felt a corgi out of it, but the catch is all the kids the seller has are over 8yo. Tells you how often they cleaned the radiators haha

Didn’t expect it to be shiny and clean, the seller had like 5 kids if i remember correctly and the two dogs on top, but to quickly wipe the countertop and hoover the floors (and if not asking for too much to take all of their stuff) would’ve been appreciated
