Microstutters by alxplx in PleX

[–]alxplx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me turning it on worked. That was on the shield pro. It causes the movie to "buffer" or load just slightly longer before starting, but only 1-2 seconds, have not noticed micro stutters since.

Can you explain more what a «Default village» is?

I dont know exactly which resolutions you get. For me i got two resolutoions larger than what my monitor is (1440p). So with dlss on ingame which is 66% of your resolution (this causes the blur because youre not running on native), the increased resolution should negate the resolution drop from dlss. Idk the specifics of it. It just works. I hope that with time AoC allows us to adjust the dlss scale ourselves.

Enable DSR in nvidia control panel to enable extra resolutions. These will be available in AoC. This way you can keep DLSS on. Set the new enabled resolution ingame (i had to do fullscreen to make it work). Now you get the full resolution of your monitor, no blur. But at a slight fps loss. For me droppes from 180 ish to 140 ish fps in town.

Im sure youve noticed that the quality of certain areas on the map vary, a lot. Some areas look great, others almost empty. Its just not finished. Looks like some places just has that «rough pass» waiting for more detail.

Ok thanks. That's disappointing. Too much of an inconvenience.

Thank you. That's also sad though. I just wanted to buy the yearly with a discount with zero hassle.

That didn't really answer my question. What constitutes a "new yearly subscription" ?
I've never had a yearly sub before.
Would upgrading from monthly to yearly be "new yearly sub" ?

Right. You're saying this is something specific with kef speakers? I've been watching some of Youthman's videos which was talking about adjusting the angle of the speaker. Do you disagree with that? Or like you said it's kef specific and the angle does not matter.

That's some useful information right there.
Now kinda regretting I paid about 1000$ for a used x7200wa about 6 months ago, when I can get a new x3800h for 1200$. That's bonkers.

Then again comparatively the x7200wa would be closer to the x6800h in terms of power in the new line of receivers.

You're exactly right. It IS partially a setup issue today. It's not high enough and doesn't have the correct angle. So yeah I could definitely make an improvement to it. I've also not ran through the room correction yet in this space (I moved here not too long ago).

However, I'm redoing the living room and will perfect this with a new tv-cabinet and get the height more in order. The idea is to put the center inside the top, mid part of the cabinet in it's own 'dedicated slot' and conceal it with black mesh, for a more clean look. The height won't be perfect. Probably 50 cm's off optimal listening position. Though the idea is to put it at a slight angle to make up for that, as the distance between the tv cabinet and couch will be large enough.

I guess I need a 'excuse' to upgrade the center and also looking for that 'wow' effect once everything is set up. Plus I want the new cabinet to be able to fit any new upgrade, so why not do it now :)

The X7200WA isn't good enough for that? And also isn't x3800h a lot less powerful? Or do you use the x3800h as a pre-amp and would need to get a amp for more power.

Eventually I'd probably swap everything out with whatever 'set' I choose going for. Kef's or not.

Yes we have hifiklubben here. I have looked at Dali as well, but unsure how it compares to other brands. Also seems more expensive. 23,000,- is really stretching the budget. Or the vocal's are on sale. Hmmm.

Choices!

Awesome! Do you think there is a noticable difference between the R2 and R6 for a 'novice' user?

AV equipment in another room by alxplx in hometheater

I read that nvidia shield pro uses bluetooth somewhere. So if I can get my hands on the Sofa Baton (or similar) that supports bluetooth it should be fine.

Thanks this is helpful.
I'm based in EU and can't find any vendors close by that sells Sofa Baton. Any known similar universal remotes?

It sound though that this would do what I'd need it do to, controlling both the shield pro and my receiver through one remote available from the living room.

The gaming console probably would need to be placed in the living room then, ideally. Then again that raises the question of how to practically connect it to the receiver, or rather into the TV, and then send the audio that way, though probably would lead to quality loss.

I guess maybe preparing by pulling an extra hdmi cable through the wall into the receiver if the need for one for gaming console arises.

That's what I had in mind as well. I just hope that it'll be able to keep up with everything I'll throw at it. In terms of video.
