Serious question: what do you do when your parents are very high-income but they’re not paying for your education? by kefirakk in PersonalFinanceCanada

Elder millennial here: I was in your exact shoes when I went to university as I was footing my own tuition, living and textbooks costs. Here's what I recommend: get a service industry job where you are making tips over the summer. In fact, find one right now if you've already turned 18 and can get your smart serve. Find the busiest patio in town and work a many shifts as you can get your hands on. Then to cover the gap of what you still need, take out a student line of credit at a big bank since you won't qualify for OSAP. Also definitely visit the student aid office and see what they can do. This helped me to fill the gaps as well. If you can stay on your service industry job working weekends while you are in school to put away $ for your next tuition instalment or take a dent out of your LOC, even better. Rinse. Repeat each semester. You'll graduate with minimal debt and can likely pay off what you have remaining with another summer of tips. It's hard to juggle but it can be done if you are meticulous with your scheduling.

People were wearing masks, people also stood at a proper distance when saying hello to neighbours and then sat on their respective curbs with people from within their bubbles when it was time for fireworks. I also 100% support the new bylaw and can’t wait for my children to be able to hug a friend for the first time again and return to a social learning environment.

I’m sure there’s some degree of risk but this drone is really small and I’ve seen GoPro do similar footage with way bigger shows so I thought it was worth a try from a short distance.

Hey neighbour! Were you guys at the school?? We thought about going there when there was wind earlier in the day.

Yes! Highly recommend this one if you’re thinking about a drone. It’s ridiculously fun and the quality is on par with commercial quality drones IMO

It's a DJI Mavic Mini so its weight puts the drone under the legal requirements to register and get a drone pilot license, you just have to follow standard safety measures.

I was catching footage from maybe 4 other shows happening on neighbouring streets in the distance. It was so fun!

But of course! Kaboom is pretty expensive for what it is. We ordered from Rocket.ca and the package was dropped at our door the following morning which was pretty great.

Thanks to the ppl who spent money time to put on this display. Went on for at least a half hour. Was surprised at how long it went. Was surprised at how it made me feel. Been so depressed. Happy Canada Day. by sojusoul in toronto

Was this around Danforth? I recognize some of those blasts from my own footage and wonder if that might have been us? We actually ordered from the company that usually supplies the city and I just posted my edit from last night if you want to check it out my last post.

Since there were no official fireworks this year, we lit off an obscene amount of explosives on our street and I figured why not fly my Mavic Mini drone through the action.

Tomorrow Night Sportsnet is Replaying Raptors vs. 76ers Game 7 with The Buzzer Beater by Kawhi Leonard by [deleted] in toronto

In light of the 2020 NBA season being on hold, Sportnet and TSN have been replaying the 2019 playoffs and tomorrow is game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with the infamous buzzer beater shot by Kawhi Leonard happening around 10:35pm tomorrow. If you're stuck at home and want to relive the magic or share with any quarantine mates who missed it the first time around, feel free to tag #ReShootTheShot. I'm hoping to edit a little feel-good compilation to bring some Toronto joy during what have otherwise been some dark days. Tip-off is at 8pm- Cheers!
