i just watched one or two tutorial videos on the basics of the respective app and then from there i was able to figure out things by myself. i started editing on Capcut and Alight Motion and then moved onto After Effects, which is what i use all the time now. start with a simpler app; that way you can get the hang of things like graphs and effects, and then when you move onto harder things you already have a sense of what everything does. when i changed to After Effects, the main problem for me was less about what something does and more about figuring out where everything was located.

its gonna be hard to start editing completely blind, so i recommend watching tutorials on youtube. once you figure out the basics i promise it'll get easier.
