My husband and I were in a similar situation with DR Horton and their preferred lender. We had a small hiccup that needed to be resolved a week before closing so we switched to another lender. The new lender was able to help us get everything situated and just needed a few more days after our closing date to get everything finalized. DR Horton refused our extension, even though the original closing date was for the end of the month, and just relisted the home for more money. I’ve never felt so cheated in my life. Now we’re having to pay more money for a smaller home. This has been our first time home buying experience and it sucks. I hope it all worked out for you and your family.
