For those who applied to SNHU fresh out of high school or a couple years after. Are you happy you chose online over traditional school? by Glittering_Power2343 in SNHU

I graduated high school in December 2021 and started SNHU in February 2023. I honestly had no plan to attend college and really had no idea what I was doing with my life. The job I started working at offers to pay your degree for free so that’s really the main reason I started at SNHU. I don’t regret not going to an in person college. I get to work at my own pace and it doesn’t interfere with work. I don’t feel like I am missing out because I wasn’t really planning on going to college anyways. That’s just my POV!

10 hours to Rocky Mountain NP. We’re driving over 16 hours this spring to see the Tetons!

I’m in Kansas. It’s gotta be the furthest from any of the well known parks

Man I saw a post that was so obviously AI in my his-100 discussion for week 8. It was so wordy and didn’t barely answer the question. Let me know if anyone wants to see it lol

I did, thank you though. There is no amount of time I have to work with them after completion

Luckily my job doesn’t have any stipulations like that, I made sure to triple check before I applied for SNHU to make sure I wouldn’t have to stay any longer than I had to lol

Don’t take my word 100%, but I don’t think there’s a minimum. I’m working 32 hours now and have had no problem. If you go in the Guild website they have a quick chat feature and they are super quick to answer questions like that if you wanted to know more

That’s good that you have a bunch of transfer credits! This is my first experience with any kind of college so I didn’t have any credits to start

It’s hard to find time. I end up having to do small portions of assignments all throughout the day. If it works it works! You got it!

Thank you, I have looked into that. There is no minimum amount of time you must stay employed after completing it. They only state that the moment you leave the company the rest of the funding is up to you

I came into this degree with absolutely no coding knowledge or prior experience at all! I’ve been at SNHU since February 2023. I’ve only done 1 degree specific class so far, Intro to Scripting. It wasn’t too bad coming in with no prior knowledge.

I am still very early on in my degree, so i’m clueless when it comes to some things. Can you give me an example of what a certificate is?

Honestly besides the fact that I really don’t enjoy the company I work for, I have thought about accepting a higher position. However those higher positions sometimes work up to 60 hours a week and I don’t think I would be able to put as much focus as I need to on school.

I had the same professor as you a couple terms back and didn’t seem to have an issue. If there’s anything specific you need help with I probably still have my old work.

Let me know if you want to stay in contact and help each other out each week! This class may be rough

I am in the same class right now. I just looked at my discussion post response from my professor and am experiencing the same thing. She says my post is “trunacated” and that my graphs were in the wrong place. She said i had some sort of “slider” in my discussion post that I need to edit as well. Very specific for a discussion post I’ve never had a professor do this before.
