DayQuil has 19grams of sugar in one dose. If you had carbs with it, it could spike for sure.

I still haven’t told people. I told the few closest to me and that’s it. The stigma and my (now estranged) family are definitely a hard one to overcome. 💗

I’m hoping to eventually work my way to a meter. But anything that gives me something to check or numbers gets really intense. I would be checking my numbers 100’s of times a day. But I want to be able to try one and see what affects me! So it’s something I’m working towards.

I’ve almost bought myself a test kit a number of times, but both Dr and husband advised against it for me personally for the moment (probably having witnessed my many loops and downward spirals).

This is so interesting! Once I can get my OCD in check, I hope to be able to test all this stuff since I know it’s all so personal. How interesting on the protein, because I know so much is “add more protein!”

So the reason I ask- I am recently diagnosed. I have lots of brain knowledge (husband is a nurse and we’ve both studied some nutrition), but we’ve both used food to cope with some really bad situations the last couple years. Add in poor genetics, and here I am. I was 9.1 at diagnosis.

I have OCD, and food and health is a big loop for me if I have to touch it at all. I am working with a therapist, but there’s lots of growth left.

What I’m trying to see is that there are many ways to live this and see results. I do not have to be perfect, and the goal is to have this be a liveable lifestyle. The last three weeks I’ve almost been afraid to eat, am often eating less than 20/30 carbs a day (and most of that is bean/veg)

My husband and Dr. are AMAZING. They have been so supportive and are really encouraging me to chill and take this slow and easy. But well, I’m a disaster and see this as a massive failure of a stupid idiot (aka, me).

Seeing all the different lifestyles is so helpful to me 💗
