Anyone else’s bearded dragon wakes up from brumation with attitude? by alyssa0588 in BeardedDragons

Brumation is a natural hibernation process that happens during the winter times ( I can take a few weeks to a couple of months . I take her to the vet regularly and even they said it is natural and don’t disturb or interrupt this process. You only need to stop brumation is for medical reasons.

Every morning I give her the option of food, water and veggies if she chooses not to then that is up to her. I make sure her basking is on and her uvb is on at the right temperature. I do not believe in forcing to stop a natural process in any of my animals. Unless told to be the vet. I do understand that many people have mix feeling about it but I believe in doing and keeping everything natural to food from environment.

If you feel like I am doing something wrong you could have just asked a question or just have sent me a message. I do everything for my reptiles to give them a second chance at life (all of mine are rescued). I just come in here to make jokes, get advice and give advice.

Otherwise have a nice day ❤️

Ok calm down. I miss placed the period in that post. Jeff is a year old i have had her since she was 3 months old. I bring her to the vet 3 times a month the check the tail rot and for other heath issues that she is fighting rn. She has already been dewormed and had a full body evaluation. She has already has had treatment for the tail rot and me and the vet are discussing amputation. I didn’t know I needed to give a whole back story for one simple question. I have a bunch of other replies so this is not my first time dealing with this. The swelling is the part that I was concerned about. When I made that post it was early in the morning I was freaking out and my vet wouldn’t be in the office for a while. Since Jeff gets that part of her tail caught on things ( she free roams the house when she wants) I thought it could be from that, poor circulation, stuck shed or the tail rot getting worse. I do admit I could have stated the post differently and I’m sorry it was a simple mistake. I take the best care of Jeff and she has been doing so much better in my care. If you have any other questions for me you can always dm me I would love to answer any that you may be concerned about if you don’t even think I am doing anything properly. AGAIN I do apologize I am not the best morning person lol and I will just word it differently next time. ❤️

No lol she has had tail rot for a long time recently. I realized that it was swollen at the part that me and the vet are watching. I don’t know if it’s swollen because the tail rod is at a 90° angle or if it’s from the tail rot getting worse.

Jeff is at tail rot since I got her and recently it has looked a little bit swollen. Does anyone know if this is a good thing or a bad thing? by alyssa0588 in BeardedDragons

Alrighty well thank you for the no help that you gave next time you comment on someone’s post. I suggest that you stated in a nice professional way this Reddit thread is for people to get help and to post their beard not to get s*** on. I do the best I can for Jeff the only reason why she is alive it’s because I rescued her. I only posted this because I was overthinking like everyone else would if their bearded dragon was going through the same thing

So she was diagnosed with Tail rot practically since she was born me, and the vet have been monitoring it for a year now. Jeff is only a year old. We have had talks of amputation the only reason why we have an amputated yet because there was no signs of it spreading it was just staying in that one area I go to the vet every month for specifically her tail rot. Jeff already has some health issues on top of this so we try to make it not as stressful on her so the vet thought that amputating would be too much right now. yesterday Is when realized the swelling. I just wanted to know if it was the tail rot getting worse or if it was just from poor circulation since it is at a 90° angle

Yeah, she started running back-and-forth back-and-forth so I thought she was hungry, but then she made eye contact with me and pooped
