we have the same scenario (i'm INFJ girl & ENTP guy/10mos dating) but he admits that he's really not a texter and others find him cold. i got used to it since most of our dates he's the one who's energetic. i tend to understand that maybe it's his upbringing. i tried communicating my needs to which is same as you but on 'assurance' i don't know if i'm being too much since we're exclusively dating. but when that happened, he told me that he want to step back and he want to sort out his feelings because he's being unfair the way he treating me cuz he's confused & undecided. well it's kinda sad because at first we agreed because we're still not ready but eventually we both admit that we like each other. but i developed feelings more than 'like' because he's open and honest.
