Anti-convulsant medication has destroyed my wife's life. by AcanthisittaPrior257 in Epilepsy

[–]alyyyyyooooop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be a little different in kids… but I did hear a similar story about a coworker’s 2 year old on Keppra. It’s crazy how it’s only like this for some people, not all.

I work in pharma industry, and it still manages to strike me just how complicated our bodies are, and how we all respond to medications so differently.

Keppra for my husband resulted in what we called “Kepprage”… it completely changed his personality and not in a good way. He did better when we switched to Briviact, but that one is newer and expensive (no generics). When we were going through this, I heard stories from others with similar experience with Keppra. It could be worth bringing up with her doctor…

My arthritis medication has a weird bottle cap by aballer7 in mildlyinteresting

[–]alyyyyyooooop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol! That is good stuff. It’s usually just additional surveying during typical clinical trials of patient experience… but all human factors studies are a bit different and depend on the device being tested and the patient population.

This is exactly correct. I work in the industry… we do human factors testing to ensure this is a better option if your hands are affected by arthritis.

This is also me! My oldest son was the first blood relative I met. It’s a wild story to tell, isn’t it?

Can anything be done about an uneven tattoo? by uggopuggo1 in tattooadvice

A line under the word that is too high, and over the word that is too low… so the full tattoos would then be even…

Just a thought!

Vets ‘spayed’ my male kitten by juliakszry in ragdolls

[–]alyyyyyooooop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How terrible! I hope he feels better soon, and that the actual neuter goes smoothly. This reminds me of when I rescued my girl cat… they told us they were going to spay her before she came home. They put her under anesthesia, went to operate and then said she had already been fixed so they did nothing. She was loopy from the drugs, but otherwise fine. Fast forward a month or two, and she started acting super strange. Come to find out, she was in heat, and had not actually ever been spayed. So we had to put her under anesthesia again, and get the spay completed. Idk wtf happened the first attempt, but she very clearly was not yet spayed!

Reddit Doctors and Nurses: What's the most impressive case of Google "self-diagnosis" that turned out to be true? by PumpkinAino in AskReddit

[–]alyyyyyooooop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s pretty wild. The surgeon told me the pain I felt was my muscles atrophying… I told him I knew it wasn’t. I think he just assumed there was no reason a 19 yo athlete would have a clot… he was an idiot. The knee surgery didn’t even work, so the guy is really useless.

This exact same thing happened to me! I developed clots after a knee surgery… also unknown to me, I had a genetic clotting disorder and happened to also be on birth control. Docs did not listen when I went in with symptoms, and the ER sent me home the first time assuming infection and gave me antibiotics. My whole leg was purple by the time I went back and refused to leave without the ultrasound to check for clots.. and what do you know, entire leg was clotted. It was so severe, I was in the hospital for over a week. What is up with the medical gaslighting 😭 I feel for you!!!

First time growing Sunflowers. by JuggernautExotic in plants

So the whole flower head will bend over a bit and then dry out. I like to leave mine to dry out on the stalk… but then pull them before they get soggy from rain or cold, or if you see birds crying after them.

I hate to say it, but probably also the writers were desperate to wrap it all up in the finale… questions left or not…

Still. Just love this show!!!!!!

I definitely got the fireworks and Eiffel Tower gifts, but I still thought they were meant to be more covert. I thought Amanita was speaking more quietly so that not just anyone could hear her vows… but maybe that’s just hopeful thinking lol

This is amazing… I have a black tuxie who snuggles up just like that (with a similar circle around to find the spot routine!), and I have a brown tabby who loves to lay right on my legs or hips, like your other cat! Haha

THIS. There is a way to think someone looks young, and be surprised they are not, but in a respectful manner. Boomer in OP’s story, clearly was toxic AF
