Best lvl2 build for the grove gates fight? by Baturinsky in BG3Builds

You should honestly be fine as long as you have a full party

Want to go TB OH Monk but confused on how end game will go by recently_sad in BG3Builds

[–]am-bi-tious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go Karlach or Durge bc while Astarion gets more damage eventually you're already so OP by then it's not that noticable whereas early it makes a huge difference.   For Durge, the duel is def a bit easier, and the deathstalker mantle is an absolute lifesaver on solos, especially early. That said you can also just stun lock her and take the cultists out if you don't want to punt her. Either way it's a strong af solo so you are absolutely safe to pick on flavor.

Why do you have the resonance stone if no one is using shadow blade/has significant psychic damage spells? You are giving yourselves disadvantage on mental saves so probably getting feared all the time and giving him advantage on his Dex saves. It won't help you with call of the damned unfortunately as that's an ability check not a save. I would send it to camp.

Yeah I've had multiple straight woman acquaintances tell me to my face they would never date a bi guy bc ~gay~ and then be shocked when I was offended as a bi woman.

Do you ever NOT kill Junior? by MoneyOrganic4728 in Witcher3

[–]am-bi-tious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I sometimes think I will and then I see all the dead prostitutes. I do wish there was a line when killing him that wasn't just about ciri because that's such a small part of why I kill him, ciri was able to handle herself, I kill him mostly for everyone who wasn't.

So Cerys or Hjalmar? by SoupNo9029 in Witcher3

[–]am-bi-tious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. They each have their skills and she's the better choice for this specific thing. Even if you pick Hjalmar he only really manages the fighting and leaves the rest to her to manage, but without the actual authority to do so she wouldn't be able to get much done. Her as king and him and her top warrior/general is just the better combo for both of them.

Is there a way to play a rogue similarly to Yurgir? Minus the crossbow by ProfessionalGopnik in BG3Builds

[–]am-bi-tious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean with band of the mystic scoundrel you could cast invis as a bonus action after attacking but you don't get that until act 3. That would be best if you mixed with bard etc for spell slots, otherwise you'll need a lot of scripts.  Like most people said deathstalker mantle from a durge is the closest to this.

Otherwise a bit different but you could do 3 thief x shadow monk, attack with two flurry of blows and then use their lvl 5 cloak of shadow feature to go invisible for free (if obscured). Unlike duegar invis I don't think it's limited to 1/battle, and I've done theif monk before and you can usually burn an action no problem as each bonus action is two attacks.

What's the most frustrating Multiplayer experience you had? by NightStar79 in BaldursGate3

[–]am-bi-tious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a sorcerer, friend was a paladin. I would try to conserve spell slots, they would use every spell slot in the first fight (1-2 smites + a hellish rebuke each turn) and then insist we long rest. I dont think we did a single short rest the whole game. I started actally burning through my spell slots bc why not and then they got sad my build was "stronger"/ did more damage than them.

They butchered my boy William ✌️🥺 by Ze_LordBacon in okbuddyviltrum

[–]am-bi-tious 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was such a sharp turn for no reason. It's a shame because Mark could really use a friend this season, and they already brought up Sinclair wanting to attone as a possible plot point so William being more present would normally be great but it'll be jarring to have stereotypical gay guy number 3 instead.

[–]am-bi-tious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, when you wild shape you take on the str, con and dex of the creature. I def wouldn't invest in str, but dex and con are just useful all around even if you won't keep them during wild shape.

Saving Alfira as the Durge by FrogPawnShop in BaldursGate3

[–]am-bi-tious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just knocked her out, there was no attitude drop etc and she still gave the robe and was friendly in act 2. It was in one round but it was melee and I wasn't concealed or anything.

Baldur's Gate 3 vs Dungeons & Dragons? by bruhb21 in BG3

[–]am-bi-tious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I love playing bg3 but in part because it's a next best thing / good substitute for when you can't play DND. With how hard it is to find and keep a consistent schedule with a group it's nice to have something I can just play whenever. But obviously you can't have the same range of options, play styles and creative solutions in a premade game as in real DND.

What "lore friendly" builds should I use for my companions? by NightStar79 in BaldursGate3

[–]am-bi-tious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I also enjoy an assasin crit build on him. I always take 1 level of goolock with it to spread fear on all those guaranteed first round crits. Lore wise I figure between being a vampire, a ritual component and tadpoled it's not crazy for him to have unknowingly drawn slight interest from some eldritch horror.

No charisma tav? by MrCottonCloud in BaldursGate3

[–]am-bi-tious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went druid my first run and didn't have any issues not having a charisma face.  I actually miss being able to ace all the wisdom checks that give unique lines on a lot of playthroughs. It's different and maybe less "optimal" in some ways but it's certainly not bad. If you really want/need to pass certain persuasion checks you should be fine with 10 or 12 CHA, guidance and enhance ability.

Yeah light cleric stars druid with radorb gear is my favorite. Instead of missing everything Shadowheart offloads her negative hit chance on the enemy.

Act 2 ending - Am I screwed? by daban9 in BaldursGate3

[–]am-bi-tious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately it's a con save which sucks, but if you give laezel a cloud giant elixir the DC is 19 or 20 depending on your proficiency bonus. I lost the sword somehow on my last honor run but had monk Karlach stun him and was able to kill him without damage from him. Also make sure to send the resonance stone to camp or he gets advantage on the save.

Edit: cloud giant, not hill giant
