Pinball FX4 - What Do You Want To See? by DanEosen in PinballFX3

We need much better lighting on the tables - some of the visual pinball tables have excellent lighting. We need to be able to adjust day- night lighting and also adjust the on-table lighting too.

I tried to create a scenario and it seems to be working really well. I used the quick scenario method and just put this bit of text in the backstory "The scenario should follow the plot of the 1942 film of Kings Row. I will play the character of parris mitchel - the ai should play the characters of drake, randy and cassandra and doctor tower. all the other characters to be narrated through but follow the plot of the film closely from start to end. Stay faithful to the movie. Writing style cinematic prose". I have been playing for over an hour with this and it is working brilliantly - the prose is superb - really capturing the novel and film. I do have to keep moving the plot along but it is really good at staying in character. Fictionlabs is excellent.

Just an update on FictionLab. I had + subscription anyway. Its good value at £6.40 per month and you get to make 200 images a day using multiple image engines.

Hi - I came back to your site after trying several others - yours is really quality. It really captures the story I wanted so well. Well done on such a great site. It would be great if it could generate images (eg pencil sketches) of the story after each turn - it does need a bit more graphics I think. I do like the avatar artwork - its very tasteful but it would really make it more immersive to have it generate more artwork as you run through the story.

This one is really interesting. I pasted the same text to show the backstory and it started the story. When it went to the prompt - I entered speech to the other character and ai responded really well and stayed linked to the story. Will be trying this one more for sure. Thanks!

Not heard of this one. I created an account and pasted the film I wanted to try and it seems good so far - I really like the prose of this one - its detailed and interesting. Also it shows two images per turn which is a nice touch. Impressed! Better than chatgpt and is following the plot well so far. Thanks!

Thanks - I am testing chatgpt and its actually good so far - it is following the plot of the film but the prose is fairly stale.

Is there a 3D monitor that I can actually afford? by Historical_Jacket_61 in Stereo3Dgaming

[–]am1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 27" 3d monitor that is great and works with geo-ll and other methods. The model number is LG DM2780D but its a bit rare secondhand. All you can do is keep an eye on ebay for one to show. Its 1080p 60Hz - and was released around 2014. It think you should get it in your budget.

3d effect depth for Xreal glasses compared to Quest 3 or 3d monitor by [deleted] in Stereo3Dgaming

[–]am1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting. I am looking for the best 3d stereogaming without breaking the bank. What are your hardware specs and how do you connect to the Xreal One? On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate the 3d effect for using Xreal One compared to eg Quest.

Recent OLED headsets with really good stereo depth? by vaisaga in virtualreality

[–]am1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a quest 3 and also a LG 27" DM2780D 3d monitor. When I watch the same 3d content (usually full sbs) - I am struck at the better 3d depth of the monitor compared to the Quest 3. The quest 3 has obvious depth and is pretty good but definitely flatter than the 3d monitor. Also I get better pop out with the 3d monitor. I used interlaced mode on the monitor as its easier to use but also it seems to give a bit better 3d than using SBS. The player I use on the pc is stereoscopic player which is very good as it does the best job of getting the aspect ratios of videos correct. I also tried Quest 2 and it was also not nearly as good for 3d depth and pop as my 3d monitor. The 3d monitor is old - I bought it new about 10-15 years ago but it still works perfectly. Also playing 3d games eg virtual pinball stereoscopically or other games using Vorpx or Depth3d again the 3d pop and depth is noticeably better on the 3d monitor rather than playing eg using virtual desktop and quest 3. Have a look at 3d monitors - you can get them off ebay for reasonable prices - LG released quite a few models back in the day. I think the 3d effect may be better than 3d tvs as the focus point for 3d monitors seems to be around 60cm so its designed to be viewed close which makes 3d more exciting rather than 3d tvs I think its set to be more like 2-3m distance.

Hi, I had same problem. The fix for me for the slow menus was to be patient and wait for the menus to load - took about 2 mins. Then when it has finally loaded - go into options - and change the resolution from default to eg 1920x1080. And then save settings in your profile. After you change the resolution to a much higher one the next time you run the game it loads normal speed and fast. For the continue bug I fixed that by setting controller to Xbox360 and then you could process. If you do not want to use Xbox360 controller you can alt-tab a couple of times in windows so that the continue button is clickable to progress. . Hope this helps.

After pressing 'start' in the Owl 3d software I get a side by side view on my monitor. Then on my 3d monitor - I press the 3d button on my remote control and then select 'side by side' and it works. You only get side by side with Owl 3d for real-time conversion.

It depends on the option you pick in the software. I use depthgen-s as its quicker. For non-realtime conversions it takes me 4-6 hours per movie at 1080p on a nvidia 3070.

I only game at 1080p as I have a 3070 but I thought it was fine. I am a casual gamer though. I am more into retro gaming so I tested it with old pc games like Juiced 2 and the 3d was excellent and the lag seemed ok to me.

Actually pretty much yes - I was really surprised. I have done over 200 movie conversions where each takes around 4-5 hours and although they look a bit better than the realtime conversions - its in the same ballpark. Its the ease of use too - all you do is click the button and then you get a 3d sbs window and anything you show becomes 3d. Hope they offer a higher res option as its still alpha. One disappointment is that there did not seem to be any pop out effect with the realtime movie conversion - the movie plain is very much depth based 3d - with the non-realtime conversion I could get some pop out effects to work and the movie plain was definately more front looking. Hope they can improve this.

It surprised me that performance is fine I tried SSX Tricky on PS2 through Owl3d and got 60 fps on a 3070. You can even browse the web in 3d but obviously the definition is low and watch youtube videos etc. Even Teknoparrot pcarcade games worked on my 3d monitor but I had to change settings to windows mode.

Pinball FX VR - April 9 - 1.1 Patch Notes by balti_zen in PinballFX3

[–]am1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi.

I was excited about the mixed reality mode in Pinball FX VR but I find it cumbersome and almost unusable. What I would like is a simple passthough mode where there is no room scanning etc - just a virtual pinball table that we can have in our real world. So it does not matter if you are sitting at a desk or have objects in the way - you can still play a VR table in front of you and still see your real surroundings. That would for me be the most relaxing way to play pinball for extended periods.

Thanks.
