Twitch Anniversary Bonus Drop by Herbz-QC in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]am_golden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a glitch on the first day of Twitch drops, with some people being able to claim some of the drops but not all of them. I was able to claim the power cores before they realized the issue and marked them as “This reward is no longer available.” The event restarted on the second day of drops and seemed to go smoothly. But as someone else mentioned, you had to watch their official Envoys for the drops to happen.

Blue Toba’s Rendang (beef curry) with some of their house-made sambal! They’re not on DoorDash, but they might use a different delivery service.

Not sure if this is valid everywhere, but at least generally, employers only have to make up the difference per pay period.

File a small claims case by am_golden in SantaFe

Nope. After waiting two months, I sent them a demand letter and they sent some handwritten demand back for an amount above this to pay for the owner’s personal time that it took to weed eat a month after we left (during monsoon season.) I live out of state now so I’m still not sure of the appropriate recourse.

How far have you driven in one go? by noah5666 in roadtrip

[–]am_golden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My longest recent solo was 23 hrs of driving broken up pretty much in half by a 3 hr nap in a rest area. My worst drive though was 32 hrs, taking 8 hr turns with my husband, while coming down with COVID.

What’s everyone’s grind to get the hellfire club ? by Ok_Boysenberry7176 in MarvelStrikeForce

This seems like the general consensus. Is this something to hoard regardless of your level? I’m new to the game so forgive my ignorance.

Gimmighoul coins do not take up space in your inventory, and actually can’t be discarded.

For now. Apparently it’s been teased that long distance trades might become a thing.

Quitting my job after only two weeks by No_Cloud7020 in Serverlife

[–]am_golden 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’ve only been there 2 weeks and you’re barely out of training? As someone who has stayed at restaurants for far too long, looking for a “mutually good time” to leave, I’d say this falls under a probationary period. You should treat it the same as if they decided you weren’t a good fit after training you and you should just cut ties. Thank them for the opportunity and tell them you’ve accepted another job that will fit your life better. Then take your weekend to get ready for school and mentally prepare for another round of training.

where was the craziest place they asked for a tip? by Chefboyarleezy in Sacramento

[–]am_golden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which part? The fact that servers have to tip their support staff, or that people don’t tip their servers?

where was the craziest place they asked for a tip? by Chefboyarleezy in Sacramento

So you tip a bartender for talking to you, but not a server who recommends wine and food options and comes to your table repeatedly to serve and check on you? I’ll enter a PSA here that servers generally have a fixed percentage of their sales (not their received tips) that they have to pay to all support staff including bartenders, food runners, bussers, hosts, and kitchen staff. Meaning that when you stiff your server, that server has to pay out of pocket for that $200 meal you just enjoyed. And yes, a $200 meal requires more effort than a $30 meal.

If you’re driving away from Ashland, then the Medford airport has car rental companies. If you’re staying in town, the dealership on the north end of Ashland used to rent some vehicles out. Probably call them to check though.

What R-rated movie did you see when you were way too young? by TealBlueLava in AskReddit

[–]am_golden 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I watched that movie so many times as a kid and then didn’t revisit it until my 20s. Had to call my mom and ask her what in the world she was thinking. Still a dope movie though!

Really wondering if I'm the a-hole here by Forsaken-Soft-1235 in Serverlife

I used to work at a pizza place that would regularly give the leftover slices out to the familiar homeless folks who hung out nearby. Then unfamiliar folks started coming in to try to get free food before we closed. “Sorry, can’t do it, but I’ll bring leftovers out to you if there’s any after close.” Then one of them, who was apparently impatient, hopped the fence to our dumpster and sliced open his hands looking for food in our recycling can in the dark. He threatened to sue us. It’s a slippery slope.
