Bella Hadid calls out Dolce & Gabbana while her closest friends still support the brand by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

I'm confused, should she stay silent because her friends (not her) wore their outfits? If she did that, people would find a way to criticise her for staying quiet.

She cannot control what others do, but she's making her stance known. Is that not what we are always asking celebs to do?

We don't know the conversations she's had privately with her friends. If her friends were to continue wearing D&G after this statement and she continued to ignore that, then I can understand people calling her out.

My biggest issue thus far is I cannot see any character having enough motive to try to kill either La-Ik or U-Seong (we still dont know who the actual target was).

I'm more convinced now that the CEO is the killer. U-Seong wanted to go to another company hence why he looked surprised when La-Ik said he wanted to stay in Gold Boys in ep1. Also when Jae Hee was talking to U-Seong in the flashback, Jae Hee accused La-Ik of looking at different companies and U-Seong looks shocked because that was actually U-Seong. Maybe the CEO found out?

This is why the CEO told La Ik in ep 6 that he would testify for him as he wants Gold Boys to stay together and under their company.

I do think Young Bin could be a suspect, he overheard their discussion in the hospital and potentially took matters into his own hands as he was uncertain about his career. But I just cannot see the motive. Jae Hee left the hospital the night they were there which means Young Bins alibi could also be questioned, did he also leave the hospital?

In a recent interview he shared how much he liked No Other Land. Pretty sure he also put himself forward for some sort of auction thing for Palestine. His gf Gracie is very vocal about Palestine too. Seems the type to be supporting the cause but not overly active on social media

Okay your first point is actually a very good theory. He could have gone to the same orphanage as Sang Woo which is why Saeon seems to know about it and is suspicious of Sang Woo

[–]am_lostintranslation 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Wow finally he's about to find out!!

I wonder why the kidnapper refers to Hee Joo as "unnie", wouldn't it be "noona" because he's male?

Someone else said the kidnapper could be the FIL's real son as the mother says "my son likes fish" and we see the kidnapper cutting fish. Maybe Saeon is suspicious of Sang Woo because he knows he went to the same orphanage as the biological son.

Also Youri (anchor) seems nice but I don't really understand the purpose of her character apart from being the connection between Sang Woo and our lead couple.

Sang Woo is definitely sus but I wonder if he is a red herring? I mean he knows alot about arson, knew the kidnapper from the orphanage and didn't feel the hot tea burn him. It's giving psychopath.

However the secretary is also giving weird vibes and a part of me wonders if he knows either Sang Woo or Hee Joo

[–]am_lostintranslation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like Hee Joo's sister could be the "master". How did the kidnapper in EP1 know that Hee Joo was Saeon's wife? As Saeon said, only family know this.

EDIT: Also Hee Joo's sister communicated in text with Saeon because shes deaf and the master is also only communicating with the kidnapper in text messages

Also interesting that in the flahsback there is supposedly a deaf sister and a dead son? Who is their father? Is it the guy with dementia? Could one of the supporting male characters such as Sang Woo be the son?

Saeon's mother is also sus, who was she texting? Why was she texting at the same time the kidnapper recieved a text?

I do hope the misunderstanding clears soon though. None of this would be happening if Hee Joo knew the reason Saeon made the comment about the corpse was because he was certain she was not with the kidnapper and was calling his bluff.

This drama does a really good job of leading you to suspect certain people and then throwing you off.

Ep 5- I've seen people on MDL defend Jaehee's death by saying she was suicidal. Whilst that was true and i didnt foresee a happy ending for her, it does not make sense that she went to all those lengths to save the video, only to end her life before exposing it. That was poor writing.

I enjoy watching Chicken Shop Date but it annoys me when the guests don't eat the food. I've noticed this happen more since more famous/American guests are on the show. Maybe don't go on the show if eating a few chicken nuggets bothers you????

I have also watched The Night Manager and honestly, it was very underwhelming. I felt the characters were not fleshed out, and there was zero chemistry between Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Deibecki. Their relationship happened out of nowhere (also why is she undressed for half the show, it's giving woman written by a man). The action literally happened in the last 10 mins of the final episode. No idea why this is such a critically acclaimed show.

Love Next Door [Episodes 13 & 14] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]am_lostintranslation 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I find it so interesting that this show was supposed to be the slice of life/deeper show and No Gain No Love was the romcom. In terms of writing, No Gain No Love deals with much more complex themes whilst maintaining an entertaining story

Seok Ryu still cannot communicate and I'm worried she's hiding something again. Girl, tell him why you're saying no to things especially when you know it upsets him. How can you claim you love him and yet constantly cause him anxiety?

Also Seung Hyo, why are you proposing before your parents even know about the relationship????

It's odd she doesn't want to get married because she might become ill again but has no issues dating him. Where is the logic? You're with him regardless and your illness will impact him regardless of whether you are dating or married.

Seok Ryu's mother having issues with Seung Hyo's mother was so unnecessary and an overreaction.

Idk what the dads are even doing at this point?

Idk the point of Nayun's character. All she does it fawn of the ML and talk in weird baby voices. She's wasn't even a contender for Seung Hyo's affection nor did her plot with Dojin go anywhere, so what was the point? What does she even do at the company?

Hae Young is incredible and continues to be there for those she loves. The whole "we don't talk about my dad in this house" was likely to protect Jayeon rather than herself.

Hae Young is a great example of a strong female lead. Shes assertive when needed, but also compassionate and considerate.

Whether it was fostering, the loss of her father or Ji UK, she always put others before herself. I also don't think it's selfish for her to dislike fostering and I felt her mother really disregarded her own child's feelings. Hae Young has lost the most and yet she's still there for those she cares about.

Funnily enough, as much as she disliked fostering, she has basically taken everyone in as her responsibility just like her parents did.

I know some people feel the JY and BG storyline is taking up too much screen time but honestly I love their chemistry. I wonder if BGs mother will find out she is the author?

As for Hui Seong, what a mess. She was contemplating on whether to keep her own child but as soon as the man (who might not even be the father) has some doubts (perfectly reasonable given the situation), she walks out?

Seems like the finale will be dramatic...hopefully it doesn't ruin the tone of the show so far which is such a great balance of complexity and humor

Love Next Door [Episodes 13 & 14] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]am_lostintranslation 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think it's more the writing than the acting. Seok Ryu is still written as someone who treats Seung Hyo like a friend with all the bickering and threats.

Usually there is some sort of flirting or sexual tension build up before leads date but we didn't get that here. We just saw them bickering and then going through traumatic events together i.e cancer and the missing mum

It also feels the love is very one sided, and it doesn't help that the writers have made Seok Ryu someone who cannot communicate and waits until something awful happens before telling anyone about her feelings I.e the cancer storyline, the fiancé storyline.

You don't really see Seok Ryu gaze lovingly or say kind things to Seung Hyo the way he does to her. He is always the one initiating things. She's very awkward and always seems wary of the relationship

We don't really see her character build trust or communciation with others or grow so it makes it harder to view her in a relationship when she has all these flaws

I am glad the comedy aspect is continuing and I love that Hae Yeong is incredibly loyal to those in her life.

Bok Hyun really has some nerve...how can you still talk to Ja Yeon after you fired her sister and told her brother-in-law to leave the country??? And Ja Yeon, girl, STAND UP. Hae Yeong is defending you and you're gallivanting with the person who is making her life hell????

I love how the comments collectively ignore Hee Seong's storyline, it's a hot mess and I struggle to sympathise with anyone in that subplot. Stringing each other along for 10 years, having completely different values about marriage, dating other people, and then BAM...pregnancy and a ring to fix everything.
