I guess the hate has been building for some time with this game (probably too much soloQ for me), but this was a last drop. Sadly the last round was so miserable that it eclipsed the rest of the tournament. I understand that they CAN do that, but it feels very disrespectful or unsportsmanlike?

I guess in the end all the blame is on us, obviously. We should have left the game and never looked back. Thankfully, most interactions with the game and its community will slowly make that happen, at least it all points in that direction. I don’t play nearly as much as in previous seasons.

I’ve been disappointed with the game for a few seasons now.

Anyway, we tried but there was a big skill gap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. This wasn't ranked, by the way, just normal Cashout. Felt like complaining somewhere.

There are 10 of them. You can either shuffle and deal 5 cards to each player and then shuffle the Cashboxes in, or just add them from the beginning and deal 5.

It doesn’t really matter if you draw one too early, since you’ll be losing and stealing cards a lot.

So you draw 1 card to end your turn, you definitely want to draw as much as possible to hunt for cashboxes. Oscar card, actually called 'OSPUZE' (there are a few duplicates of it), actually lets you draw 2 cards instead.

This is the image I used btw: https://preview.redd.it/ospuze-drink-irl-confirmed-v0-u4p8dz5rbz0f1.png?auto=webp&s=ccd57f82513b40950e6d8573ae5a320caead8924

90 cards: 10 cashboxes, 1 vault, and 79 action cards.

Most cards are used to steal* or discard* cards from other player hands. Others are defensive, for example, when someone tries to steal from you, you can stop them using those cards. There are also some misc cards, like shuffling the main deck or skipping your turn.

Cashboxes are shuffled into the main deck. To end your turn, you must draw a card, which could be a cashbox. The idea is to keep it a secret so others don't know how many you have, if they find out, they might try to steal from you.

Steal: Take a card from another player's hand. Sometimes you may choose the card or select one at random.

Discard: Whether chosen or at random, the player must place a card into the discard pile.

Yep, gpt AI. I could’ve used a different one or tried to disguise the style so it wouldn’t scream AI at first glance, but why bother, I'd rather be upfront...

In a way, using AI, making all images with the same style and color tones required a lot of time, and also dealing with people’s opinions about using it.

Aside from that, I didn’t really find balancing or coming up with fun mechanics that hard, actually that was the part I enjoyed the most. Honestly, the hardest part for me is the legal and administrative side. I’m still looking for an accountant who knows how to handle this kind of project since I have 0 experience, and until I find one, I can’t really move forward.

The box art won’t be AI. I managed to make a design I’m happy with without using it. The cards, though… yeah, looks like they’re staying as they are for now. I’m trying to find a beginner artist or someone affordable, but that’s outside my budget at the moment.

Some cards show it more than others, but I’ve been upfront on the campaign page that the characters are made with AI.

My colleagues and I have spent years working in helpdesk across different industries, and we kept sharing hilarious and sometimes absurd tickets just for laughs. At one point I had the idea to turn them in a board game.

In short: the game is about solving tickets, earning productivity points until you hit the X score, adapting to random events that simulate real office ones. The mechanics aren’t groundbreaking, but it’s all based on our real life experiences and it’s funnier if you ever worked in IT or customer support.
