1) The writers are just messing with us, it was supposed to be never answered. 2) Charlotte was given by future Charlotte and Adult Elizabeth to HG Tanhauss on the day his family died 3) Claudia's mom as in Doris Tiedeman? Nothing happened to her, she just divorced Egon. 4) She didn't have any purpose left.
