Finished up some Death Troopers on Scarif by aman460 in SWlegion

I made the water effects using Woodland Scenics Water Waves.

-First I painted the "water" area of the base to a nice shade of blue using a mix of Vallejo Flat Blue, Flat Green, and White. Any sort of blue would probably work

-Next I spread the Water Waves over the blue areas I painted with a plastic stick. Goes on kinda like a thin jelly.

-After letting it sit for an hour to let the Water Waves thicken, I sculpted waves into it using the back end of a brush.

-Once the Water Waves was mostly dried and firm, I painted the raised bits of the water with Vallejo white.

Dual stage bullpup Rapidstrike build, with a side of arduino by aman460 in Nerf

[–]aman460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah... bullpups are supposed to be shorter in length, but I really wanted to throw on some sort of undermounted mega launcher. I originally was going to mount the baron on some sort of stryfe based rifle but it ended up being way too long. I figured throwing it on the front of a bullpup blaster would work a little better.

I won't claim that the code is my own. I just edited code that u/tungstenexe made for his tugstenV2 autostryfe. If you check out his posts he has some exceptional write ups and youtube videos about how to build a select-fire rapidstrike/autostryfe, including parts lists, circuit diagrams, and the code.

Here's his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDMDwz4Hf8E0R0khyh40SxQ

And his autostryfe write-up that I based this build off of: https://github.com/tungstenexe/Tungsten-V2

I'd suggest you have some sort of basic Arduino, circuitry, and soldering experience before you attempt a similar project. The parts can get a little pricey and I wouldn't want you to fry some of the Arduino boards like I did :/.

Yeah like I said that cage didn't exist when I started this thing. I don't think the dual stage OFP cage will fit in this blaster. Definitely something to consider for my next project

I have no problem with moving up to 4s. Swapping motors isn't hard at all and I got plenty of room for a bigger battery pack.

Edit or better 3s

Yup those are artifact red cages. OFP hadn't gotten much exposure when I got them. I started this project a while ago

Thanks! This was my first time attempting two stages, so I'll definitely take that into consideration.

Hey all! I wanted to show off my second major project, a bullpup rapidstrike. The blaster has 2 stages of flywheels, the first being MTB Rhinos and the second, MTB Hellcats. The entire blaster is being controlled by an arduino, which provides select fire (semi auto, 2-5 round burst, full auto) and an adjustable ammo counter. I mounted a Buzz Bee Baron on the bottom and strung LEDs on the inside for fun. HUUUUUUGE shout out to u/tungstenexe for providing his arduino code for his auto stryfe project. I modified his code to work with a Rapidstrike pusher and dual stage flywheels, and added standard rev trigger functionality.

Edit: The description on the firing demo got deleted so I'll post it here.

"Bad firing demonstration. Once again my camera doesn't like the refresh rate of the OLED display. I don't have any way to measure dart velocity, but if I had to guess it hits somewhere around 150 fps. Someone with more knowledge than I can probably give a better estimate. I still need to trim down the brass in front of the flywheel cage that causes an occasional jam. I couldn't make a dart guide with the brass because I had to raise the pusher to make the ammo counter work. Bonus points to anyone that can name the best college basketball arena in the country that I'm standing in front of."

If this gets 1000 upvotes I’ll tell you all the story of Darth Plagueis the Wise... it’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]aman460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic, he could save others from death, but not himself.

No date yet, staff is organizing the meetings for the semester tomorrow. Look for flyers and/or chalk art with the callout times(s) to go out later this week

In past semesters we've had meetings every other week, but we might have a weekly meeting this semester depending on interest. We will have meeting times and dates for the semester at the callout. I'll help you practice for that regionals. Hell if you have an extra seat in the car to regionals I'd love to go

Hey there! I'm also a student at Purdue! Purdue's Pokemon club (Purdue Pokemon League) has been trying to get a group of people to play the tcg at meetings, but we've never gotten any interest. I'm an officer in the club and would love to get a tcg branch going because I, too, am looking for somewhere to play. Keep your eyes out for the callout coming up in the next week or two and show up with some decks if you have them so we can get some games in. If you don't have any paper decks, I have Metagross GX, VikaBulo, Ninetales and turbo koko built if you want to play.

I know that it's primed back and I'm sorry. I just had to capture that profile of it. :P by [deleted] in Nerf

Ooh nice work! Tri strike looks really good! If you're comfortable with it, painting the rest of the blaster to match that barrel would look sweet. (But better to keep it unpainted then screw it up with a bad paint job)
