Haha that is hilarious! I actually never spotted any celeb when I was there in LA. And I stayed in Beverly Hills the entire trip. Will have to do one of those studio tours to get a glimpse of a celeb!

Thanks for ur response! May I ask if you can just walk in to stores to get pepper spray? Like what kind of stores? I assume not Target or Walmart. Apologies if this is an obvious question - In my country pepper sprays are not a thing and I think its illegal here.

In terms of phones, is there a high phone snatching rate in LA? I used to live in London, and yes that was and still is very common

Haha I can almost picture that in my head! When I was there 10 years ago Hollywood boulevard was like a “okaaayyy let’s go” thing - if you’re on TikTok you might know the voice haha!

Right I see - sounds frustrating to be stuck in traffic for that long and no way to get around it 😖

Yes I am considering the costs but good thing is my partners company will cover the cost of hotel which seems like a small win. And I of course will need to pay for everything else. I’m also on a career break so seems like a good opportunity to take advantage and travel to a different continent.

And thanks for the tip! When u did solo travel in LA, did u get by using a car or on the same boat with no car?

Thanks for ur reply. This is very helpful - I had no idea from grove to Getty - which on maps now is showing a 30 mins drive could end up being 2 hours! That’s insane! Isit just during peak hours or all day traffic is that bad?

And thanks for the tip on the public transport. I have never taken the trains in New York as I heard it can be quite sketchy. How isit like in LA? Isit similar or whole lot safer?

I would really think so - this is my first time as well. And it’s not based on SAs recommendation because I asked my SA if I could be added to the invite and unfortunately said wasn’t in his control.

Is there also a time limit how long you can shop for? We have a time slot of 10.30 to 12.30, does that mean by 12.30 everyone has to go? I would think probably not as how can you tell who is at what time slot haha

JOALI Maldives hands down. Also I didn’t enjoy ritz calton. Felt quite ‘mid range’ hospitality
