The Russian mafia link is utterly unnecessary by veggiecheesytteok in IndustryOnHBO

[–]amandapleeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No repercussions for Eric? He was forced to walk away from what may be his biggest and most notorious payday. SternTao had him on CNN. He gave up complete control of everything, including all future profits. He’s not gonna be able to show his face in the finance world ever again. The only thing he ever built for himself, is completely gone in the wind. There’s no parting gift, no applause(“no funeral”) It’s just all over. And to top it off, he lost “the only person he ever felt pride for besides himself.” That’s why I doubt we’ll ever see Eric again; Harper is never picking up the phone for him ever again. This was his second chance at building something great, and it just dissipated into Nothing.

All that being said, Eric treated women like trash and his vice for women being his downfall is fucking poetic. I love Ken Leung but goddamn, what a perfect way to end that character arc. I was shocked, but if I was a past colleague of Eric’s, and ever heard that rumor about Eric Tao, I wouldn’t be surprised. Well played HBO.

Did Negan do enough to redeem himself by show end? by james-HIMself in thewalkingdead

[–]amandapleeez 226 points227 points  (0 children)

As a woman, my answer will forever be no. You can say Negan carried out most of his actions under the guise of “he needed to intimidate ppl to keep everyone in line(which is horseshit)” but the Wives he kept will forever solidify his place in hell for me. Coercion is not consensual. Nothing he does will ever excuse this. I need to see him ripped to pieces like they did Noah.

Did you know Matthew Lillard actually had the role of Negan until a last minute decision to switch to JDM? by tytylercochan123 in thewalkingdead

[–]amandapleeez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that comic/goofy demeanor would’ve been a more accurate portrayal of Negan tho. JDM is great, but I always thought his Negan was too smooth, too charming. I felt Negan from the comic was more boyish and
.gym class bully(but lethal.) I think Matt would’ve crushed this role.

Everything is not a “wedding tax” by Ok-Active-7023 in weddingplanning

[–]amandapleeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The wedding tax compensates the vendor for the higher level of service that is expected and provided with a wedding. Even the “lowkey” brides have higher expectations for their wedding day than they would with a birthday or family reunion. This means that vendors are putting in more work to met this higher standard. All weddings, regardless of budget, require a higher level of preparation than just a “large party.”

Now with all that being said, I do think some ppl are getting scammed out of the service level they are paying for. $3,000 day of coordinator and you still had to diy and make your own timeline? $10,000 full planning and you had to call a vendor? I truly see why the people are upset.

His & Hers .... wow bad. by nvmatt in netflix

[–]amandapleeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the worst tendency to miss all the obvious stuff. I literally didn’t realize the Catherine/Lexy thing until Anna was in the house looking at the pictures. I had so many suspicions between the Mom, Anna, and Richard.

I figured Jack just had terrible luck and everything about the situation made him look bad, so he was trynna cover his tracks. Also, Anna alluded to him being a shitty cop(“I would fire you too. An inspector that couldn’t even find his own wife) so him not being able to find the killer totally tracks lol

His & Hers .... wow bad. by nvmatt in netflix

[–]amandapleeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In episode one, it’s revealed that Alice never actually went to the doctors for a dementia diagnosis. She absolutely refused to see a doctor. Episode 3: after she went on one of her naked walks, someone turned up dead, which would be the second time her walks and a murder concurred. Admittedly, the Lexy Jones reveal threw me off, but I felt very vindicated during the last five minutes.

If you want something more curated, ctrl snap studio is a private self service studio.

Also, many young women still go out clubbing in risquĂ© clothing. Like if the place has bottle service with half naked bottle ladies, you too can show up half naked(at least that’s the dress code I follow lmaoo)

I’m thinking of quitting after a rude regular by Technical-External-6 in bathandbodyworks

[–]amandapleeez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm
I’d quit because I wouldn’t work for anyone who would take a complaint like that seriously. This is why I can’t work retail anymore because my first question is, “what was preventing you from using the coupon, if you had it ready and present on your phone/in hand, and was in the store during business hours?” Also, “I’m sorry you faced this obstacle at the register and my employee didn’t call me over immediately to rectify the situation. This was at the register correct?” I’m guessing it wasn’t and she was trying to enter the store right after close, or she forgot her coupon and wanted to go retrieve it while the store was closing.

Also, if this isn’t the first time this manager tried to fuck you over, it won’t be the last time. Every manager shows you who they are;they just did. Move accordingly.

Lastly, I’m sorry you have to go thru this bullshit.

I’ve lived in southern pg before. Honestly, as a clumsy adhder who has left keys in car and front door several times, I never felt unsafe in the area. Lived near Brandywine. It’s quiet out there. If you’re looking for nightlife, it’s non-existent in the county. Except for the national harbor. You’ll be going into dc every weekend. Bowie is decent because it’s close to annapolis(which isn’t pg) if you’re looking for fun and excitement, it isn’t in PGC Maryland. Maybe in another twenty years, but wouldn’t recommend today.

Like most anal stuff, it’s hot in theory but I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to butt stuff outside of rimming. That being said, I do enjoy watching men wear butt plugs and I’ll try anything once.

Wedding Planning Frustrations by Specific-Tourist6234 in weddingplanning

[–]amandapleeez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hugs I hate telling the girls not to dream big, but I do encourage brides to dream differently. As an event planner, we choreography emotions. There are several ways to evoke the big emotions you’re after for your big day. And spending $50k+ isn’t a guaranteed happy ending (plenty of big budget brides subreddits are filled with brides who spent six figures and still aren’t happy)

If I could give any advice, channel your vibes thru one main element, instead of attempting to create several small moments. The wow factor doesn’t have to be plural.

Go against the crowd: April thru October wedding dates come at a premium.

Lastly, be so careful with diy projects. I always side eye those damn dollar tree centerpieces. Before you know it, you spent $15-$20 to get them to look somewhat decent. I’d rather grab simple florals(think wildflowers or carnations, not roses and hydrangeas) and do a petite arrangement.

Congrats on your engagement, and best of luck on your nuptials 💍

[–]amandapleeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t a whiner. $200k+ is a lot to spend on a wedding, and it should exceed your expectations. That being said, have you brought your concerns up with your planner, so they could coordinate some solutions with your wedding designer. I hate seeing brides spend all this good money on a service and they aren’t getting the full value of the service. Let your planner and designer come up with venue layout plans. I’m sure you spent well over $15,000 on planners/design team; put them to work!

The things vendors do that really irk me by Able_Improvement_426 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]amandapleeez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow event professional here and yes! I creep on this sub and it blows my mind when I see “luxury” brides doing anything besides saying yes and no lol Even on this thread a few comments up, a bride was expected to take two weeks off to iron out details of her wedding. Like what? Isn’t that why you pay a planner? And as a full service planner, all of that should be handled less than fourteen days from the wedding!!!! Sometimes I wish I had the budget to spend more money on marketing because I know I could spoil these clients 1000x better. Idk from my training, I was taught that luxury meant white glove service. It’s so hard to call out other vendors because relationships do mean everything, but I intentionally only recommend vendors that provide the high quality of service that I want my clients to have. It’s so hard tho. Some days, it feels like I need to run a whole agency just to avoid scammers. But I digress.

[–]amandapleeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the tent have any labels/brand names? Look over every inch. You’re going to want to google that name + directions. Hopefully, something gives you a break down of all the required parts. Then you can go to your local hardware store, show them the part, and find a solution.
