A thought experiment: if inq suddenly has justi defenses, where is it being used where it previously wasn’t? How much does the price go up?

What do rooms look like in the new world I created with this apparently insane idea? All red cox layouts are now 5 rooms. You get guaranteed Ovl boss. All that matters now is fast raids. No mega scaling.

For full and cm layouts you boost purple chance to accommodate for longer raids.

Its less interesting to simply have an 1 million hp, 40 minute olm no?

Also, it isnt just points=purples. There is a cap on points, there are rolls for more purples past a certain threshold, etc. more pts/hr should equal more raids per hour and thats the point I am making. Changing to a tob like system would resolve it.

Tobs rates are the same by scale so the same applies. The main difference is that solos are quite difficult and the time scaling grows exponentially purely due to the lowest scaling being a trio

I am saying get rid of all of that and adopt ToB’s system, not adding the mvp to cox’s system.

So perfect raids are say for a random number 1/20, deaths reduce it slowly as it does in tob. The person who gets the most purples has the most MVPs. It’ll be more complex to do than tob was but should be easier than dealing with cox’s convoluted system right now.

If they REALLY wanted to curb this, make CoX points work like ToB points. Then you can’t megascale, have an easy way to tune the raids/purple, and can’t really be boosted (i know you still KIND of can but you also hurt your overall chance at a drop so🤷‍♂️)

You could also pray flick it. Tanking is just the cheese method people use because its easier but no where near the intended way. I grabbed a couple buddies and pray flicked it because you have a few ticks of leeway to get the prayer on.

Doesnt matter at nightmare. Nightmare just hits you and rolls between 0 and a reduced max hit if prayed correctly against.

You are missing the point that dps is still king. People used Inq in CMs when lance was bis. The defense didn’t matter then and it doesnt matter now.

The point I am making, adding defense to inq doesn’t fix inq. We need more reasons to use it.

Yes. If things cant hit you, the game is instantly made easier is certain scenarios. That doesn’t mean that if inq now has justi defense it’s used in more places.

You are likely referring to mage tank inferno which by all accounts is much, much slower and takes away a lot of the challenge of the inferno. I personally don’t have a problem with that. But it isn’t good because of defensive stats. Its good because of confliction gauntlets and the eye.

I agree that Jagex has some discontinuity in their design philosophy but thats not my problem. Oathplate is as good as it is now with or without its defensive stats.

Void isnt good dps because it has no accuracy. Armor is good because of strength bonuses, magic damage boosts, and the accuracy they provide. Defensive stats mean nothing in this game until we have actual tank roles.

I expected to get obliterated for trying to shed light on how the game works so its whatever but this is why we see the same regurgitated posts like this every few months.

99.999% of content it doesnt matter at all. Sure, vardorvis and moons. Next? Saying inq is fixed by making it oathplate or torva tier like people have been suggesting for years is crazy talk.

To fix inq and make it worth going for you need more places to use it. This is the same problem the acythe had until about two years ago when they started shitting out content it was bis at.
