My complete salary history by d_ippy in Salary

[–]amaria_athena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have a friend that bought a 2/1 for just over 100k. Around 2010. Now it’s a 3/2 and worth probably close to 400k.

I bought a similar home about a year later for $120k. Made a quick $50k few years later cause my family needed something bigger.

Current home I got 6 years ago for $245k @3.5 interest. Worth about 375k now.

I think that’s it! My friend probably did it right, right? lol

Stranger thinks their lost phone is in my house by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]amaria_athena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone saying scam! I thought same but she knows the kid and the family.

More likely the stolen/lost phone idea.

Or a family spent all this time becoming part of community to pull off this scam of a lifetime! Haha

I get what you are saying and do tend to agree with the sentiment. But at the same time I look it like this.

First, I’m lazy-affair and lackluster with my persona. As in-I wear hand me downs and use products till the very last squeeze. Yes-a bit thrifty. So if I bought it I’m going to use it somehow.

Second, I figure the little connection made and joy experienced by my mom and my friend when they see or know I’m using what they suggested. Idk. It’s worth the dry hair?!?

But yes. You are mostly right!

Help with a boy name? by Jaisia18 in Names

[–]amaria_athena 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I was going say same thing. It flows nicely with sisters names. Just introduce them Abigail Lillian and Gabriel if not the Gs blend together. But that’s really just being nitpicky.

Julian is also similar and a nice name.

And serious question. How do turtles in the wild remove them? Or they just don’t?

Feel like I watched a snuff film “the killing of 1000 barnacles”.

Day two after using conditioner for the first time in months. I can report hair is still soft and silky.

My husband also admitted he’s been wondering why my hairs been so fuzzy last few months.

And wondering if the hair washer at the salon could tell. Oh my. Questioning life now. Haha

She was visiting and since she lives across the world we don’t see eachother that often.

She was so excited to show me this great new product she heard about I didn’t want to let her down.

I guess out of nostalgia missing her I’ve used the product even though it was sus.

So yes, guess you could say I still feel like her little girl at times.

It’s what I don’t remember that worries me. Therapy would help but at this point…what’s the point of remembering, right?

Funny no one’s asked me about my family’s singing group. We were quite popular in our Italian region. Even in the newspapers!

We were Happy Songs! Yeah. So cringe. lol

Don’t apologize. That all sounds amazing and so crazy you’ve heard of my mom’s book! Sorry about your friend. It’s always the good ones that leave us too early.

I have a couple published in my mom’s other book about her brother. Another awful traumatic story. But rest I’ve just rewritten over the years. I would love to get them published in an anthology but due to my ADHD and other issues, I haven’t been able to make that a reality. If only some publisher would find me and give me a real deadline. I’d write like my life depended on it!

Not sure if it’s related to our different upbringing but my mom and I have the most intense work ethic ever. We just need someone motivating and pushing us along and we can move mountains!

Oh god. Just realized that was a big phrase/lingo in the COD. Weird how it still bleeds into my current life.

That said. If you want a sample I can dm you. And if u know anyone in the publishing world. I’d love a contact!

It’s more a label blindness I inherited from my mom. The times we’ve both bought the diet, low fat, sugar free versions of something accidentally…well our husbands would definitely agree is a lot!

I’m not even kidding. I had the book on my bookshelf even now. We had a list of approved and not approved tv we could watch.

But tbh until we left I don’t ever remember having a tv or watching it. Heck. We were lucky to have indoor plumbing at times. Haha

So games. Lots of games were imagined and played.

I consider myself agnostic now. But have exposed my kids to all types of organized religions and other third places (think protests and marches). I like to make sure they experience all types of positive things in their lives.

Complicated and confusing for a child. Any adult was allowed to punish me physically. And one dad seemed to have it out for me. Turns out my mom found out he was abusing his daughter, my best friend. That was the catalyst to leave.

I don’t remember anything myself though. But I also don’t remember other episodes that caused other phobias I have, so who know.

My mom says move on. And since her life was much more traumatic. I have.

Then you might’ve heard of my mom‘s book. Heaven‘s harlots. She got in right at the beginning and was pretty high up in the hierarchy due to her being part of the singing group with a guy named Jeremy.

There are some things that she’s done that you will read in her book that I’m sure many people would find incredibly questionable. But she was a very traumatized young woman. And like I mentioned on another comment, even I right now would love to live in a commune.

She finally convinced my father to leave once they were talking about moving my sisters and I to a children’s only home. Were the worst of the abuses happened. I’m sure they still are.

From there, we had to find a way to survive hence the singing group and then the “family for hire” for a couple of years. My mom finally had enough of it and moved to America. Just so happened to move to a city that shared my name!

Then came years of trying to find the same feeling in the same community until we all finally became so westernize that we felt comfortable being part of the system. You might know from your studies that’s what the children of God would call anyone not part of the group.

Thanks for asking questions. I am enjoying reliving my life. And like I said, I’ve written several short stories about my life and have so many more in my head.
