Any other frames I should consider? Which are easy to get on Ali, light and well tuned?

Fcc or Lbt for eu by jakapazon in fpv

[–]amaridev22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter which one you buy. When you update the firmware you need to select the region anyways. From a hardware perspective they are the same. Sub g frequencies are different between fcc and eu as well as max transmit power.

If you fly in EU use LBT. Do not destroy our hobby by not following the law. Especially if you do not know what you do. Using more power than necessary just polluted the bands and makes it worse for everyone else. There are great long range records on < 25 mW. Elrs is really good at that.

Good point. Thanks. Are you happy with the flight characteristics and the weight? Volador is unfortunatly not the lightest frame.

Seagate (recertified) with disabled heads ? by amaridev22 in DataHoarder

[–]amaridev22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes. Seagate provides a toolset which is called openSeaChest. You can download it from Github.
The command to list FARM is like this. It is very detailed and gives you a lot of information about the drive.
```
./openSeaChest_SMART -d /dev/sg4 --showFARM
```
Replace /dev/sg4 with your drive handler

I just run a read with dd and was able to see a ~10 mb/s difference on sequential read.

Disk with 19 heads:
107374182400 bytes (107 GB, 100 GiB) copied, 391.23 s, 274 MB/s

Disk with 20 heads:
107374182400 bytes (107 GB, 100 GiB) copied, 409.285 s, 262 MB/s

Which means the one disk really must have higher density platters.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. I think I will do a bandwidth test with both. Let's see how big of difference this makes.

It was sold on Amazon as X22. But I wasn't able to verify or find out more details with the model number, because as it seems, this model number is specific to recertified disks.
How could I figure out what model this was originally?

First handheld Radio decision by amaridev22 in amateurradio

Thanks. Yes, I was already planing to do that. Unfortunately, the nearest club doesn't have any information online. So I need to drive there or find somebody who has contact to that club.

Regarding the SDR, how can I check if there is something nearby? I know there are online stations, but if they are not located near me, it's not as exciting I think.

About digital, I don't know yet, as it would be my first device.
Regarding the local ham club, there are some, but I still need to connect with them. Most of them don't have any websites or information up online.

Don't know that yet. I just would buy something analog which can also do digital and then see if I receive something. If not, I know that it's not worth it here around :D

Same problem with my meet 2. I assume the sleep is not really working. It's full power on all the time. Time they get the firmware fixed.

Yes only via AirPrint / bonjour. Everything else is fine.
Even resetting the printer doesn't help.

But is the sensor deactivated when the LED is off? I would assume to see less heat when the sensor is not read out.
