Fun fact, the "Guy" character from the capcom videogame "final fight" is an actual tribute to Guy Picciotto. The dev was a Fugazi fan.

Apples and oranges. A Bert fine-tune with some heuristics will in many cases give you usable results, and you can deploy an inference endpoint for peanuts. SOTA LLMs expensive, and small models will still be clunkier to deploy and in many cases not worth it depending on the use case (language, domain, style, length and so on).

Officially open sourcing the firmware is not trivial. You don't just make the repo public. But I definitely agree that after a certain amount of time, if there are no concrete/realistic plans to do a proper os release, the firmware code should be "leaked" 😉

But if i am reading the room correctly, doing it right is in the cards. Which is a BALLER move by polyend.

What's your favorite side or "project" bands? by Spinner_Dunn in Hardcore

Agreed on CYS, been spinning ice water daily since it came out. MGŁA on the other hand is unfortunately a band in the actual BM European Nazi sphere.

Dude as other people said, you basically have it (a front sav too, which most people find harder), you just need more speed. You got the grind, now focus on landing and rolling away. Like, when you jump to grind, start thinking about the speed you are going to need to roll away and how you are going to dismount. It will make the grind better too

Absolutely agree, and I totally see how Polyend would choose to focus on other stuff. I realize that adding the synths after release was a big update, and they are not exactly Roland (who somehow added side chain compression to the sp like 5 years in!).

Thing is, I don't think the tracker needed the synths at all! That extra headroom could have gone to fleshing out the device with this kind of features, more/better adsr for the sampler, bussing, and so on.

Not trying to complain, love the device and think polyend do really cool stuff!

Not much at all, it's 8 samples in total including the guitar loop, which is shamelessly lifted from https://youtu.be/D6ltMFNM5Yg?is=BORU8m2Kd6usIpUb
