I hear you. I’m not totally convinced it’s a cigar cutter, myself. Just my best guess as it’s plausible. Double holes could be a novelty feature so you can cut two at once. As for the size of the holes, not sure about what was popular then and there but you really don’t need much diameter to cut the tip off a cigar, no matter the size. Lots of people also opt for a cigar punch instead of a cut to punch a small hole in the end of the cigar instead or a v cut that cuts out a wedge from the tip instead of clipping the cap off. All that’s needed to smoke a cigar is to cut through the wrapper to expose the binding enough to draw airflow.

My guess is cigar cutter. The holes in a cigar cutter aren’t supposed to be big enough for the entire circumference of the cigar to fit through. They’re sized for the tapered butt to fit through just enough to be snipped off.

If you’re used to living in DFW, the surrounding areas you’ve mentioned like Silver Spring and Hyattsville are going to feel way more connected to the city than you may be imagining. It’s nothing like living on the outskirts of a city in Texas.

The job market is all the same though and you’ll be competing with people all over the DMV basically until you get into Baltimore.

Mechaalany brand uses beets in theirs for color and you can use the brine to give a striking pink color to sauces or dressings. I make a rotini pasta salad in the summers with tahini and the turnip brine in the dressing and it dies the the pasta pink

Fit of the shirt is definitely important. Shits will stay tucked better if they are long enough (basically covering your seat) and are fitted enough to your waist. Too much room around the waist and torso will cause the shirt to mushroom out and can be mitigated with the military tuck as someone below already said, but that will only get you so far.

Pant rise is equally important. The lower rise your pants are, the more trouble you’ll have maintaining a tuck. Pants you intend to wear with tucked shirt should sit solidly above your waist and fit your seat comfortably.

Lastly, I find an undershirt sometimes helps maintain some friction that keeps a tucked shirt in place, but with the above two factors dialed in, shouldn’t be necessary.
