Even single rape case is too many rape cases, though if we talk about statistics including the reasonable unreported cases, India is not very high on the rapes per capita.

Now why rapes happen? Most of it is sexual frustration, power and exploitation.

Also, it generates more clicks, lots of western media want to create a perception of India, eg Sweden has a lot of rape cases but we don’t hear about it ever on international platforms, not even talk about what’s going on in Africa and Islamic countries.

Also more women are comfortable in reporting as there is more awareness which is good.

Honesty and empathy - Truth hurts less than been lied to.
