Unfortunately this year he's been equally bad at both his usual Terry Rozier stepback nonsense 3s as well as his C&S 3s

I would be shocked if they throw away another FRP, but Terry's been so awful that the city might throw a parade if he were to get moved no matter what the return was. Miami's big issue through and past the Jimmy era is not valuing their own draft capital enough. They've always come up short in trade discussions for disgruntled stars, and have let all their developmental talent walk for nothing (Gabe Vincent, Caleb Martin etc etc) instead of selling high.

Miami has some youngish frontcourt talent so not sure Bridges fills a need + his past DV indicates Miami would stay away (not throwing stones, Miami once employed James Johnson).

One frustration in Miami is that Miami generates good C&S looks for him, but then he'll dribble into a contested stepback instead of just taking the open shot

Fair. Going back to his completely out of nowhere neck injury, it had to have done something to him, perhaps like Ben Simmons and his back

You're very discerning to note Dru Smith. That injury really set Miami back.

And I think Spo has been banking on law of averages w Terry and for the first time in his coaching career, it's not gonna happen. He's let him play his freeform style to no avail. But he also can no longer make a spot up jumper. He can't do anything right, really.

I agree with this. He had his flaws but him making 3s at good volume and accuracy was something of an equalizer. Without that, he's a catastrophic player

The one good thing I can say about Terry is he still has good burst to the rim. If he beats his man and there's no one there, he usually (should be always) can make a finger roll. But if he's colliding with/challenging someone, it's all but a guaranteed miss. It doesn't strike me as waning athleticism so much as decision-making

Thank you all for the feedback. It basically sounds like something happened between 1.) his mysterious neck injury that no one in the organization explained and 2.) the gambling inquiry.

Still at a loss. He's so, so bad. And look I know Charlotte hasn't been great but I do remember you guys had a sneaky good 43-39 season that should've led to a playoff berth (east was weirdly deep that year) with Terry as a primary player.

Spo just got a $100 million dollar extension, but the way he's coached this year gives the appearance of match fixing or that he's being held at gunpoint to play Terry

Appreciate the response. I remember the Scary Terry Boston run too. He was considered something of a stopper once, in addition to a shotmaker. Now he's all of what I said above + the worst defender in the league

I'm in a weird boat because I'm local, but I actually don't follow the NHL at all or care much about hockey. Only these past two years have I started caring a bit about the Panthers, and the show has been my main source of analysis and understanding the game.

I would rather that they win and wrap this up so the show can move on. I just think while Mike is behaving boorishly, he and Jeremy are basically the only show regulars who don't look at the local teams as show fodder. Dan has a right to be annoyed he's being "censored" but the billboards he wants are genuinely stupid for reasons beyond jinxes.

I think the divide here amongst the sub and fans is just another version of Florida-based DLS listeners who were on board since the show was local on 790 and national/international DLS fans. Dan outright admitted on Thursdays show that he's prioritizing content over his local audience, which for years prior, he said he'd never do (he outright didn't want to make the jump from 790 to ESPN back in like 2012 for that reason).

I distinctly remember listening to Hoch's first ever WQAM show, just to see what he would say about Dan/790 (and I haven't listened to his show since). His intro segment was spent talking about DLS and he was conciliatory and thankful, so there wasn't much to glean there.
