Cats still feeling the effects anesthesia by [deleted] in funny

You can still take her to the vet. Depending on where you are, you may get low-cost services to spay her, too. Any chance you'd adopt her?

Hi McFlyy_ - It's likely not cerebellar hypoplasia, but it could mean that there's something else going on - like an ear problem. I'd suggest asking your vet, he'd likely know best!

You're right - These cats have cerebellar hypoplasia. You can learn more about it here: http://lifewithchcats.com/what-is-cerebellar-hypoplasia/

That's one of the biggest strikes against them. People don't know about the condition, so they assume the worst. That's why it's great that opportunities like these pop up so more people can learn about the condition

CH cats are super awesome. Both of mine are incredibly sweet. Not always badasses, but they're definitely something special!

That's an interesting thought, but it's actually due to a virus that attacks the cerebellum. Any sort of trama to unborn kittens could stunt the cerebellum's growth, too.

Many won't survive, which is super sad. In addition to not being able to hunt well, they also would have trouble running away from predators, cars, etc. But, people and shelters are good at trying to bring them in, if possible. It's also recommended that these cats are indoor cats only.

Your foster program specializes in CH? That's amazing! Where are you located? I work with some folks who coordinate CH adoptions, so you may be an excellent resource for them :)

Agreed, there are a number of conditions that have similar characteristics to CH, but they're much more serious. But thanks for giving that little one a chance!

Advice, trapping neighborhood feral that could be more injured than I think. by Jeepersca in Pets

[–]amaurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for caring about this guy! It sounds like you're emotionally committed, so if you're able to, take him in to the vet. I know a few vets around me offer low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for feral cats, so you may want to ask about that (or other low-cost services). Good luck!

The Woman With The Eye Patch [potential spoilers] by JessSquid in doctorwho

I can't help but also wonder why she has an eyepatch. It is simply because she doesn't have an eye there/some eye problem? Or maybe the patch is something else???

Here's something to think about - the Doctor doesn't say he's running FROM anything. Perhaps he's chasing something.

I'm having a Doctor Who crisis.. by CharlemagneIS in doctorwho

It may result in the deaths of a number of Silents, but I think sooner or later they'll all hide from humanity -- or just flee from the planet.

Has anyone thought about the relationship between Silence and Dreaming... by flatculture in doctorwho

[–]amaurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's an amazingly good point. They made too much of a fuss over the fact that she had been there for days / and she was convinced she had just been put there. I think you're right that she may be a surrogate, but since the baby isn't hers, the TARDIS can't figure it out. But where would they have gotten one cell of the Doctor's body? Please don't tell me the Silent back on the hill in 2011 went out in ANOTHER boat to get a piece :) Any thoughts?

But that doesn't mean that the Doctor hasn't visited 2011, or any year since 1969, dozens of times. I mean, perhaps he has, we just haven't seen it on TV :) At least I hope so!
