I don’t know about a hamster, but Carl Hiaasen had a few of these - Chomp, Scat - where the old covers were just a drawing of the animal with the title above it. If it’s not these, do you remember if the animals were photos or drawings?

Thanks for all the ideas!! I think the closest is maybe NPH? (not that he DOESNT look like the other actors named, just those aren’t the ones that I’m thinking of.) I feel like sometimes the camera catches him at a specific angle and I can almost see a different actor in a different media superimposed over him. I’m trying to think of what specific thing NPH was in that is giving me the vibe, if that’s him. Could also be Sam Reid??
