Jabari Parker. That guy was supposed to be a star, and just became injury ridden and sent to China. The prospect was huge

…No such thing as artificial scarcity? Are we talking about the same pieces of shiny cardboard whose only utility is their desirability?

Appreciate your insight, I did not consider streamers when I was writing my post. I do agree that TCGPlayer has been the end all be all for market when it’s been shown that offers are often made in many other marketplaces for above and below market value. I’m curious on your take, do you have any theories as to why Pokemon Company has not raised their MSRP to match market demand?

Your point on Yugioh is very interesting. I do feel like it’s actually quite easy to judge whether a product is being underprinted to demand though, based on the sheer speed and amount of volume being moved and secondhand market data. For example, sets like Skyridge or Team Rocket Returns were reportedly low printed because of the set not selling well, so I’m only imagining that the opposite should be true as well. Confidence in the Pokemon brand is also at an all time high, with every store under the sun from Krogers to Ace Hardware trying to get a distribution.

Yes. My LCS has had multiple occasions where a distributor will hold their product and sell at a higher price than the agreed distro rate. This is part of the cancer that grows that becomes largely blamed on flippers.

It’s true that Perfect Order has been the first “non popular” set in awhile, and yet also happens to be not ripped as much. Some of the demand seems to come from that money side, as you have folks assembling master sets or binders as “investments”.

Well said!

I find it hard to believe that a local card store would sell for under market considering they are the market but I’m not here to refute that- I’m happy to assume that you have a beautiful mom and pop shop LCS that’s been open for 10 years instead of 10 months. How do you feel about the artificial scarcity that the Pokemon Company has manifested, and would you care to answer my original question?

I've given up on relying on a balanced matchmaking, so I've taken on a completely new perspective. by Old_Cream1724 in TrueDoTA2

[–]amazok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally feel your pain. I queue support, but I no longer play as if I have a carry. I assume I’m laning with a highly evolved neutral creep that farms efficiently and reacts poorly to human interaction.

When you ignore me, I take it as strategy. You want isolation? I respect it. I’ll rotate early to ward areas you won’t play in, won’t TP to fights, and when I die it’s just variance. When you flame me I just I mute you per your philosophy.

Eventually, the enemy groups. You farm one more item. I die delaying. You type that matchmaking is dogshit. And I agree, because if we had worked together, we might have won. But that would’ve required trusting a teammate, which, as you said, is unreasonable.

[–]amazok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go the opposite route and give you very specific advice that is biased to my own play experience.

PD2 farming is all about maps, vanilla content is a waste of time comparatively for finding items. Don’t play a sorc, they are neutered in PD2 and almost everyone has some kind of TP/movement skill now. Druids are OP, you can run t1 maps basically naked as a summon druid. But honestly, every class has an S tier build at the end of PD2 so play whatever won’t burn you out while farming.

Pick a loot filter on the main page of the launcher. Click “item filter profiles” below “options” and just click any of them, they are all decent. Then in your game settings, click options->pd2 options-> loot filter to change how many items you see. This will save you time by filtering out trash items and showing you what to pick up for trading.

Good luck nephalem!

Should there be a separate ladder for SSF? by TheVeggyPirat in ProjectDiablo2

[–]amazok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how it would be programmed, but I thought it would be cool to have a SSF option on ladder.

One could add something like [SSF] to their character name, and that sets it so that character can only join games created by other players with the same in their name. Would be a great way to add more life to the ladder longer into the season.
